Let's be honest, the early 2000s were a mess in terms of style. There are so many lists with the worst outfits ever created, but despite the mess, some of these were pretty iconic. Think about Britney and Justin's all denim outfits. They may have been awful, but we all remember it. Some of the most iconic styles came from early 2000s teen shows. There are a lot of looks, messy or not, that we will remember for years to come. Without further ado, here are the most iconic looks from 2000s teen shows. (Warning for blood on entry #8)
10. Peyton's Music Tees ("One Tree Hill")
Here's one thing you should know if you know nothing about "One Tree Hill": Peyton Sawyer LOVES music. She spends her entire run on the series dedicating her life to music, so it makes sense that her style would reflect this. There wasn't any one tee I could narrow it down to because she wears so many.
9. Bright's Hair ("Everwood")
I never watched "Everwood" but even I know about Bright's hair on this show. What makes it so memorable is that it's so flashy, with bright blond hair and curls. I can't believe that this was ever cute, but then again, Chris Pratt does pull it off.
8. Lilly's Neptune Pirates Shirt ("Veronica Mars")
Even though Lilly Kane dies before the show even begins, I would argue that she has one of the more well-known looks. Perhaps it's because she was killed wearing her Neptune Pirates shirt which is haunting in itself, or because it's all we ever see her in, this image is pretty famous.
7. Paige's Sunglasses ("Degrassi: The Next Generation")
Honestly, all of Paige Michaelchuk's looks during the first few seasons of "Degrassi: The Next Generation" are pretty amazing, but nothing is better than her sunglasses that she wore all the time. She even wore them when she was inside because they were her signature look. To be fair, her sunglasses are really cute.
6. Blair's Headbands ("Gossip Girl")
"Gossip Girl" was on the later end of the 2000s, when they were starting to get their style in check, but that doesn't mean it didn't have its own iconic styles. The one that stands out the most is Blair Waldorf's extensive headband collection. Especially in the early seasons, it seemed like she never ran out of headbands.
5. Rory's Chilton Uniform ("Gilmore Girls")
"Gilmore Girls" didn't have a lot in the way of iconic looks, which made sense for a show about a mother and her daughter. But Rory Gilmore's Chilton school uniform has become iconic in its own right, maybe because it's what we see Rory in the most. When people think of "Gilmore Girls" they tend to see Rory in her uniform.
4. Ryan's White Tank ("The O.C.")
Ryan Atwood's signature white tank, despite it being such a simple piece of clothing, has become so iconic that Buzzfeed even created a whole list dedicated to it. At least he looks good in it, even if it's all he ever wears.
3. Brooke's Clothes Over Bros Line ("One Tree Hill")
Brooke Davis's entire storyline (when she wasn't stuck in a love triangle with Lucas and Peyton) revolved around fashion, so of course, I had to include her fashion line on this list. Even better, her entire fashion line was about valuing yourself before boys.
2. Everyone's Outfits ("The Hills")
Because it was a reality show "The Hills" made sure they stayed on trend with their outfits. Which wasn't the best thing considering how awful fashion was in the 2000s. They had velour tracksuits, trucker hats, fur vests, and pretty much any other beautifully horrible style you can think of.
1. Phoebe's Jacket ("Charmed")
Okay, this might be a disappointing entry since most people probably don't remember this jacket, and "Charmed" isn't really a teen show. But it's a really amazing jacket, even if Phoebe Halliwell only wears it for about 2 minutes. It's a sweater jean jacket, but the entire back of it is made of sweater material instead of just the sleeves. It's incredible and criminally underrated.
