Halloween is coming up, and if there is something this generation enjoys in October more than pumpkin spice flavoring, it's Halloween. Here are some of my favorites and suggestions for this year, if you're at a loss.

1. Wonder Woman

The same thing is going to happen this year as it did the previous. Every girl was Harley Quin, because it was yet another way to be with the times and still a bit slutty. She was pretty awesome in that movie though.

This year it’s Wonder Woman. I’m already prepared to see Wonder Woman’s everywhere and this year I don’t even mind, because I’m pretty sure that was the best movie I’ve seen in a while. I mean it’s a super hero movie, and a woman lead, and a woman director. Plus, though her outfit was considered somewhat revealing, there was no emphasis on her as a physical being, despite some compliments about her beauty, she wasn’t made a fool. I mean this woman can kick some serious bad guy butt. So, if you’re planning on going as Wonder Woman, be my guest!

2. IT

This costume however, another one I’m sure people will dress up as, I will not be so thrilled about. Seriously, if I see you in a clown costume, I will run. And if you come too close, I cannot be accountable for my actions/reactions to your presence. Clowns are truly terrifying and though I respect your right to dress up as whatever ‘thing’ you would like, please respect my right to be terrified and don’t do it near me.

3. Bob’s Burgers

This is another option for your Halloween festivities and a great one. It’s easy and cheap to dress up as one of these hilarious characters and if you do, well we’d be instant friends that’s for sure. It’s also a group option too if you have enough people who would do it and I am always pro couple pro group costumes.

4. Inside Out

This is just a cute option. Maybe if you have no other ideas and want something easy. Get all on color, color your face and be an emotion. You could always tailor it to your mood too, make it easy enough to play the part. Are you moody? Go as the angry one. Sad? Go as that poor little blue girl who’s always frowning. Or joy, if you think you can keep up the happiness and who can’t on Halloween, it’s just a fantastic holiday. (Can I call it a holiday? Ah, well)

5. Grease

Classic. This costume is classic and also would function as a duo or group costume. You could be the pink ladies, the t-birds, or just classic Sandy (beginning Sandy or ending Sandy, it’s your choice). It’s another costume that would be easy and cheap to recreate and everyone would know who you are, without a doubt.

6. Flintstone’s

Another group costume, which could be a single, but I think works better as a group. It’s not only easy and cheap if you made them yourselves, but those long dresses look comfortable. And I’m all about cheap, easy, and comfort.

7. 80’s

If you are at a loss for a costume, seriously just look up 80’s movies and pick one, because we are such a nostalgic generation. I know I’m a nostalgic person, watching all the old movies my mom did as young girl and becoming obsessed. They’re the classics, everyone knows them.

You could go as a character from Back to the Future. That’s easy enough, just finding jeans and a vest. Or you could be Doc.

Ferris Bueller, Pretty in Pink (just wear a lot of pink maybe? I don’t know, I just really love the movie), and Karate Kid are also classics. People would instantly know who you were and it’d be kind of fun if you were one to actually be ‘in’ character.

Top Gun is another great classic, one of the big ones that everybody has at least heard of. All you need is a flyer’s uniform and some shades, and you can call it a day.

Ace Ventura is a personal favorite of mine, due to the fact that it’s a fantastic movie. Also, it’s another super easy costume to put together. Just find yourself some khaki pants, and a loose, button up, with some odd flower print on it, do your hair in a crazy way and there you go: you’re ace.

8. Coming to America (Akeem)

I just saw this one online the other day when searching for ideas for my own costume. It would be another fun costume to make and a fun character to be. Less people might know who you are trying to be, but the cool people will get it. I mean, who doesn’t love Eddie Murphy?

9. Princess bride

Great movie. Great characters. Enough said really. I mean you could be Westley, the Princess, or (probably the best idea) the old couple. That would be a great couple costume. I know couple costumes can be super cheesy, but get ready future boyfriend/husband because it’ s happening.

10. That show Game of Thrones

I don’t watch the show, but I do know the awesome chick with the blonde hair and the dragons, so that’d be cool. This show is everywhere and I’m going to be shocked if I don’t see anyone wearing a Game of Thrones costume.

Ok, so it’s not technically a holiday in retrospect, but it’s a fun time. A really fun time and who doesn’t want to dress up as a pop icon or a historical figure for a day, pretend to be someone else? I always look forward to the Halloween parties and always try to come up with cool costumes, so if you were at a loss, I hope these suggestions helped.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
