The Walking Dead is returning in a few weeks, so in order to celebrate the return of one of my favorite shows, here is a Top 10 list for the best episodes!
1. Too Far Gone
Hershel and Michonne are held prisoner

This episode was the best. I remember sitting in front of my TV absolutely glued to the screen. We see Rick and Daryl have close calls as well as the death of The Governor. The final battle for the prison will forever be one of the best episodes for me. So much happened and the group was split for the next 8 episodes. I remember going in thinking everyone was going to die.
2. 18 Miles Out
The eerie shot of the lone walker in "18 Miles Out"
https://comicvine.gamespot.com/articles/the-walking-dead-210-18-miles-out/1100-144334/
This episode was almost number one for me. This is to this day one of the best. We got the drama between Shane and Rick over Randall and then back at the farm we got Beth's suicide attempt and the drama between Andrea and Lori and Maggie. The ending to this episode is also one of my favorite endings of any episode of any series. With "Civilian" by Wye Oak playing as Shane looks out at a field and sees a lone walker, symbolizing what he will eventually become a few episodes later, powerful scene.
3. Still
Daryl And Beth hunt for moonshine

I know I am going to get some flack for this, but this episode was amazing. We see Daryl and Beth out on their own after the prison. They start off sort of hostile then eventually they become best friends to each other. The episode doesn't add much to the overall story in terms of Terminus and what was going on at the time, but it gave us a powerful friendship that started all because Beth wanted something to drink. Also, the Mountain Goats song at the end was a great touch.
4. Conquer
Rick meeting Morgan for the third time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcbsg2ZNZLA
Conquer was an episode where I went in expecting the worst things to happen, and it ended up being amazing. It set up season 6 nicely and the campfire scene at the end was one of the best scenes. Deanna and the rest of Alexandria discussing Rick's actions in the previous episode, where he beat the crap out of Jessie's abusive husband, Pete. Then a bloodied Rick comes up to them with a dead walker and then things really hit the fan. Pete gets out of his cell and gets Michonne's sword and attempts to kill Rick but instead kills Reg, Deanna's husband. Rick ends up killing Pete and Morgan is there to witness the whole thing and isn't too happy about it either.
5. Beside the Dying Fire
After the fall of the farm

This episode was a great way to end season 2. Season 2 is one of the best seasons in my opinion and I thought that bringing back the Helicopter that Rick saw in the first episode and having it lead a herd to Hershel's farm was great. The episode was intense and satisfying and left me on the edge of my seat the whole time. It was a great action episode.
6. J.S.S
The meaning behind J.S.S
https://comicbook.com/2015/10/19/the-walking-dead-meaning-of-jss-revealed/
The episode where we finally learn a little bit about Enid and The Wolves attack. This episode really surprised me, as most of the Wolves were taken out this episode and I thought that the Wolves were going to be around until the Savior arc, maybe The Wolves worked for the Saviors? Overall, J.S.S was an insane episode, and that was only Episode 2 of the sixth season,
7. Days Gone By
Just before Rick is shot
http://www.fanpop.com/clubs/shane-walsh/images/27405565/title/days-gone-bye-1x01-screencap
The episode that started it all on Halloween 2010. This episode was great, it had a sense of mystery to it and even now when I watch it I still get goosebumps from that scene when Rick walks out of the hospital and sees the piles of dead walkers and his first encounter with one. Great episode and the music when Morgan was going to put down his wife...amazing
8. Still Gotta Mean Something
Rick and Morgan
https://ninertimes.com/2018/04/tv-review-the-walking-dead-still-gotta-mean-something/
This episode in Season 8 is one of the slower paced ones, we see a side of Rick we hadn't seen in a while and we see a soft side of Negan. Negan talking about his wife really made me like him, it made me feel for him and I understood finally why he walks around with a baseball bat all the time. Rick snapping was a great scene, it almost confirmed that Rick is, in fact, an anti-hero, as he promised the Saviors safety but ended up killing them all anyway.
9. Slabtown
Beth watches Officer Dawn cut off an arm
http://www.tv.com/news/the-walking-dead-slabtown-review-dead-bland-society-141477354612/
I know I am going to get flack for this one too, Slabtown follows Beth Greene after she was kidnapped by the Grady Memorial Hospital group, this episode was one that some people didn't really like while I loved it. It really developed Beth from carer for Judith, to badass survivor. This episode made Beth my favorite character. And then she dies four episodes later in "Coda" which was depressing.
10. Last Day On Earth
Negan
https://www.amc.com/shows/the-walking-dead/video-extras/season-06/episode-16/spoilers-inside-episode-616-the-walking-dead-last-day-on-earth
The most controversial episode in the Series history, right after "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be". The episode introduced Simon, Played by Steven Ogg, and Negan, Played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. This episode really showed that the Saviors were not a group to be messed with. The group was trying to get to Hilltop because Maggie, who was pregnant, was experiencing complications, the only problem was The Saviors wanted revenge for the attack Rick's group pulled a few episodes earlier. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, as Negan slams his bat down onto the camera, leaving fans waiting months for answers.
