My Top 10 Favorite Songs By Prince
ABC News

Last April, we lost one of the greatest songwriters of all time, Prince. He was an inspiration to many, and had the incredible talent of creating his own music, which many artists nowadays do not have. Seven time Grammy winner, Oscar winner, and millions of records sold, most musicians will not have the the career that he had. While I may be too young to have experienced his career in his hay day, I can proudly say that I am a huge fan of him and his music. It's still hard to grasp the concept that we will not hear any new music from him, so here are my top 10 favorite songs by Prince.

10. Sexy M.F (1992)

"See it really don't matter cause it's all about me and you, ain't no one else around"

While this song was not one of his biggest hits, it's a fun catchy tune that will get stuck in your head. To me that's what makes a song great.

9. Raspberry Beret (1985)

"Raspberry berret, I think I love her"

Classic, happy type of love song, once again also has the tendency to get stuck in your head. Who else wouldn't be this excited about meeting someone at a thrift store? And he still wouldn't change a thing about her.

8. Take Me With U (1984)

"I don't care where we go, I don't care what we do, I don't care pretty baby, Just take me with you"

Released with his film Purple Rain, the title is pretty self explanatory. They'll be happy doing literally anything and still find that that is who they want to be with.

7. Diamonds & Pearls (1991)

"If I could I would give you the world, But all I can do is just offer you my love"

Although he doesn't have all of the riches in the world, he would give you all of him and his love if you'll have him, and love is all you need.

6. I Would Die 4 U (1984)

"I'll never beat you, I'll never lie, And if you're evil I'll forgive you by and by"

A song you cannot help but dance to when you hear it, and the meaning makes it all the better.

5. Kiss (1986)

"Ain't no particular sign I'm more compatible with, I just want your extra time and your kiss"

Prince lists what he's looking for if you want to be his girl, just simply be yourself thats all the matters, and maturity.

4. Little Red Corvette (1982)

"Little Red Corvette, You need a love that's gonna last"

This song is one Prince's very ambiguous ones, the meaning can be pretty fuzzy to some. And it must have helped because this was his first Top 10 U.S Hit.

3. When Dove Cry (1984)

"Why do we scream at each other, This is what it sounds like, When doves cry"

This song came out with the release of the film Purple Rain and to me one of the best revenge/break up songs I have ever heard.

2. Let's Go Crazy (1984)

"Dearly beloved, We are gathered here today, To get through this thing called life"

Another song you can't help but dance to, sometimes you just have to let loose and go crazy, and not let the elevator break you down.

1. Purple Rain (1984)

"I never wanted to be your weekend lover, I only wanted to be some kind of friend"

You cannot have a countdown like this without his Oscar winning song. A song that gives off so much emotion and makes you feel some type of way, plus the last four minutes of instrumental gets you right in the feels.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
