The Top 10 Favorite Ed Sheeran Songs Of All Time

Because the worst part about 2016 was not having any new Ed Sheeran music.

HE'S BACK!

That's right, after a year-long hiatus, Ed Sheeran has just debuted two new songs. Yes, two. And "Castle on the Hill" is so beautiful and heartfelt that I legitimately cried when I listened to it. . . all three times.

So, in honor of another year blessed with Ed's amazing music making talent, here's a list of my favorite songs he's made so far -- with links to the YouTube videos.

You're welcome.

10. Lego House

Despite its popularity, I just don't think it beats any of Ed's more passionate works. But it has wonderful lyrics and a beautiful guitar. Plus the music video awesomely includes Rupert Grint, so that definitely puts it at No. 10 on my list.

9. Don't

I must say, I am a fan of sassy Sheeran, and this song definitely delivers a super fun, upbeat tune, even if the message sucks. Either way, the girl who inspired this one (whose name will remain unmentioned) definitely got what was coming to her.

8. The A Team

This was the first Ed Sheeran song I ever heard after I downloaded it when it was the free song of the week on iTunes almost seven years ago. While Ed's music has only gotten better, this heartbreaking song will always have a place in my heart.

7. Cold Coffee

Cold coffee may be ick, but Ed's sweet voice and adorable lyrics are definitely anything but. This is most definitely one of his most underrated songs, as it was written before his big debut. I do wish it had a real music video. *Sigh* A girl can dream.

6. Little Bird

It seems that "Little Bird" is forgotten by those who don't dabble in the Sheeran songs that don't make the radio, but there's something about this one. It's got a great rhyme (as usual) and the lyrics are just so catchy (again, as usual). It will always be a top 10 pick for me.

5. I See Fire

What can I say, this song is just so cool, as is the movie it was featured in. The guitar here is also completely amazing. The only downside is that it's a little long, but I can overlook that just for you, Ed.

4. Drunk

Though this one never felt as popular as some of the others, I think it's definitely one of his best. His lyrics here are both clever and relatable, and I love how he can make this song seemingly fun and deeply sad all at the same time.

3. Gimme Love

This song is one that routinely makes its way onto my shower karaoke list. I adore the way Ed's voice sounds in this one, and the softness of this song is just so lovely. The ending has always been a bit much for me, though, which is why it sits at No. 3.

2. Photograph

I'll admit, when this song first came out, it didn't immediately catch my interest. Only with time and the realization that life moves so quickly have I grown to love this song so much. Photos have became a beautiful reminder of all the good in my life, and this makes me tear up every time I hear it.

1. Thinking Out Loud

I don't care if it's cheesy or expected or if this is every single other person's favorite Ed Sheeran song. I will always love this one. I will continue to sing it at karaoke and watch my parents dance to it, and I will play it at my wedding. This song will always make me fall in love with love.

BONUS: Castle on the Hill

And I uploaded the acoustic version too because it's just so good.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
