My Top 10 Favorite Disney Movies

Because, believe it or not, "Frozen" isn't the only one

My Top 10 Favorite Disney Movies
Disney

As a kid, I grew up watching every Disney movie known to man. To this day, I prefer to watch a Disney classic over anything else. If a guy doesn't like Disney, then I don't like him. Over the years, I have realized that there are some Disney movies that I could not live without, and here they are.

1. "Lilo and Stitch"

As a kid, I didn't understand this movie. But as I grew up, I grew to love this movie so much, and it instantly became my all-time favorite. My boyfriend and I watch this movie as often as we can, and I know almost all of the dialogue. Every time I go to Disney World, I cannot pass up "Stitch's Great Escape." I make my sister watch this movie until she whines and complains that we watch this movie too much. Plus, who doesn't love the Elvis music in the movie?

2. "The Aristocats"

I watched this movie on repeat as I kid. I think I had to repurchase it at some point because I watched it to the point of my VHS tape breaking. This cute little story about cats getting kidnapped and trying to find their way home is so awesome. I still watch this movie all the time, and it continues to be one of my favorites. I have more Marie stuffed animals than I do clothes. My obsession with this movie is still going strong.

3. "The Emperor's New Groove"

This is literally the most under-rated Disney movie of them all. When people don't know about this movie, I am personally offended. Yzma is seriously my spirit animal. This is yet another Disney movie that I know all the dialogue, and I will say it without being sorry about it.

4. "Monster's Inc."

My aunt and I both fell in love with this movie when it first came out. I was about four years old and I remember watching it with her in her living room, and checking my closet that night to make sure there weren't any monsters in there. The story just warms my heart and never fails to make me laugh. I watch this movie as often as I can because I just can't get enough.

5. "The Little Mermaid"

I will never not love this movie. When I was a senior in high school, my love for this movie grew stronger when this was my senior class's play and I was cast as Flounder. The music in this movie never fails to make my day better. This is by far my favorite Disney Princess movie. Plus Ariel's hair has been goals since I was three

6. "Aladdin"

My love for this movie has seriously grown over the last couple of years. I cannot live without the music. The story itself is just so amazing. It comes on TV all the time, and I absolutely refuse to miss it whenever it comes on. The movie is just so perfect.

7. "Tangled"

Disney's spin on the old fairy tale "Rapunzel" is simply spectacular. When the movie first came out, I was a bit skeptical about it because I didn't understand why Disney needed another Princess movie at that time. But I'm so glad they made this remarkable movie. It's so humorous and romantic. I just can't get enough!

8. "Monster's University"

Although I would've loved a sequel to "Monster's Inc." instead of a prequel, I am beyond happy this movie was made. The story is just so relatable, especially for college students, and I love the minor details that they threw in from "Monster's Inc." I watch this movie so much and am determined to purchase and MU hat when I go back to Disney World.

9. "The Princess and the Frog"

I did not know I would love this movie as much as I do. I thought that Disney would stick to stereotypical New Orleans and wouldn't do any research on Louisiana at all. I was so wrong. The details were amazing, and there wasn't anything in the movie that was stereotypical or offensive to people from Louisiana. I was really impressed with this movie, and it instantly became one of my absolute favorites.

10. "Hercules"

I watch this movie way more than I should. Although it is not the same as the original Greek mythological story, I still love the story. The characters are amazing and so out of the box. This movie is on my Netflix list, and it honestly is probably my most watched title on Netflix. I can't help it, I love this movie so much. And I promise you, I will have five sassy, singing muses at my wedding.

I grew up on Disney, and I will most likely die watching a Disney movie. People can say that it's just for kids, and I can continue to not talk to those people because I don't need that kind of negativity in my life. Disney will probably come out with so many more movies before I have kids of my own, but they'll watch the classics before anything else. I will always love Disney movies.

28 Daily Thoughts of College Students

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
