For the past decade, Fall Out Boy has been blessing us with song after song. From pop punk to rock alternative, this band has truly kept us on our toes when it comes to their versatility. Here are a few tunes that are truly noteworthy and deserve some recognition.
10. Young Volcanoes
"Before it has begun, we've already won".
Featured off their album "Save Rock and Roll", Fall Out Boy really changed their sound when they came back from their five year hiatus. They gave up their old pop punk/ boyband sound and began to lean more towards rock and alternative.
9. Sophomore Slump Or Comeback Of The Year
"We're the therapists pumping through your speakers".
This song still shows signs of Fall Out Boy's original sound of pop punk and pop rock. Coming from their second album, the band began to find their sound and grow in it.
8. 20 Dollar Nosebleeds
"Singing vows before we exchange smoke rings".
Featuring Brendon Urie from Panic! At The Disco, Stump and Urie successfully exemplify their vocal abilities in this tune.
7. Love Will Tear Us Apart (Cover)
"Is my timing that flawed"?
Originally written by Joy Division, Stump was great at covering this song for an EP.
6. The Kid's Aren't Alright
"Fall to your knees, bring on the rapture".
Fall Out Boy wrote this song to honor those fans who never left them. They've realized that through the past decade, we've grown as fans and that their music has developed as well. This tune proves that despite change, everything will be alright in the end.
5. Alone Together
"I don't know where you're going, but do you got room for one more troubles soul".
The most mainstream song of theirs that will be featured on this list. Although the song is fun and upbeat, the lyrics are deep and powerful.
4. Hum Hallelujah
"A teenage vow in a parking lot, 'til tonight do us part".
This "coming of age" song perfectly portrays what it's like to be a teenager. It brings back memories of high school when we would make spontaneous decisions in the heat of the moment.
3. Favorite Record
"I'll spin for you like your favorite records used to".
Pete Wentz, who is the bassist for the band, said that this song was made for those who stuck around after their hiatus. The group is extremely grateful for their devoted fan base and wanted to write a song made specifically for them.
2. Disloyal Order Of Water Buffaloes
"Detox just to retox".
One of their most diverse songs. Featuring pianos, guitars, and exceptional vocal capabilities, this was great work on Fall Out Boy's end.
1. Save Rock And Roll
"You are what you love, not who loves you".
Okay but this song has Elton John in it, which automatically makes it number one on this list. This tune is an ode to life itself.
