If you're a student at Syracuse University, you probably have a good idea of exactly what I'm referring to. There are so many things that make going to school here enjoyable, but it's the little things that we really need to step back and appreciate more often.

Here are the top 10 feelings for the average Syracuse University Student, in no particular order.

1. Game Day.

Game day for Syracuse is like Christmas (or any other exciting holiday you may celebrate). You wake up early, put on every piece of orange clothing you have and prepare yourself for some dome nachos.

2. When the temperature is above 32 degrees.

Living in Syracuse during the winter is quite literally like living in the arctic. Any time (especially between the months of November-March) the weather is above freezing, we all know it's going to be a good day.

3. When the line at Chipotle Mexican Grill isn't long.

Easily a top 10 feeling. When you go to Chipotle Mexican Grill after a long day and see that the line does not extend all the way to the end of the restaurant, life just gets a little bit better.

4. When the Juice Jam and Mayfest lineup is announced.

Juice Jam and Mayfest are two of the best days of the year. Rain or shine (or snow), these days always guarantee a good time for SU students.

5. When MySlice works the way it's supposed to.

Using MySlice to register for pretty much anything is always a nightmare. When MySlice works, it feels like something is on your side.

6. Going to Chucks for the first time.

I, personally, would not know what this feels like, but I've heard it's pretty great.

7. Drunkenly walking home and realizing Kimmel is still open.

Kimmel sells mediocre food to drunk Syracuse students looking to spend Super Card money rather than real money on food.

8. Showing pictures of campus to friends at home.

Syracuse has one of the most beautiful campuses in America, and it's pretty fun to brag about when you're home for breaks.

9. Seeing Otto roaming around.

He may not be the fiercest mascot in the world, but he is the friendliest! Sometimes Otto takes a casual stroll through campus and spotting him is always extremely exciting.

10. Making the campus Snapchat story.

Syracuse has a Snapchat story that anyone on campus can submit pictures and videos to, but only a few get selected and featured. Making it onto the Snapchat story is pretty exciting and sometimes a little embarrassing.

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

From sea to shining sea, the United States was uniquely positioned for an incredible Aurora Borealis display on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, going into Friday, Oct. 11.

It was the second time this year after an historic geomagnetic storm in May 2024. Those Northern Lights were visible in Europe and North America, just like this latest rendition.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Because no one ever really leaves.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
