10 Dream Travel Destinations To Visit

There are few things I can think of more beautiful and exciting than travelling the world. Experiencing new places, people and cultures is something invaluable that everyone should try to do as much as possible. While I would love nothing more than to visit every country in the world, here's a list of my top 10 dream travel destinations.

1. Munich, Germany

Munich, in addition to being a beautiful city full of history, art and culture, is the home of the world famous Oktoberfest festival. As a beer lover and home brewer, it is my dream to go to Munich during Oktoberfest. The 16-day festival is held annually from mid September to early October, and has done so since 1810.

2. Greece

From the gorgeous beaches, to the excellent food, to the plethora of historical sites, the reasons to visit Greece are endless.

3. Cuba

Given its unique history, Cuba is a nation unlike any other. Especially today as it tries to reconcile open relations with the U.S. with its revolutionary socialist identity, the time to visit Cuba is right now.

4. Las Vegas, Nevada

Who doesn't want to visit Sin City? Las Vegas has a notorious reputation as a party city and has some of the most luxurious casinos in the world.

5. Israel/Palestine

As a Christian, there's nothing I would love more than a trip to the Holy Land. The numerous religious and historical sites throughout Israel and Palestine makes this a great destination for anyone who loves to experience culture and history firsthand.

6. Paris, France

The City of Light is one of Europe's most famous and most visited cities. It is a major center of art, fashion, music, food and history. The things to do and see seem endless.

7. Amsterdam, Netherlands

Usually when one thinks of Amsterdam, one thinks of what is sold in the special coffee shops and what is sold in the famous Red Light District, both of which are legal there. But Amsterdam is so much more than that. It is another great historic European capital. I hope to go and take a scenic cruise in the city's famous canals.

8. Belgium

For a foodie such as myself, a visit to Belgium, a country known for its beer, chocolate and waffles, would be just awesome. I would love to go and tour all the country's historic abbeys, many of which have been brewing since medieval times.

9. Florence, Italy

Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance, is a city chock full of famous and historic art and architecture. Names such Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci are synonymous with Florence and its many art galleries and museums.

10. Venice, Italy

Venice is a city famous for having no cars or roads, just canals and waterways, as the city is built on more than 100 small islands. It is also known for its many historic sites as well as art and architecture.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
