My Top 10 Dollar Store Beauty Products
unknown

All of us girls out there know the trouble of finding good beauty products on a budget. Surprisingly, your local dollar store is probably one of the best places to find cheap makeup! That place is a gold mine of beauty steals. From lipstick to makeup wipes and applicators you can get good products for about a dollar a piece. Now this may seem too good to be true, I thought it was too when I accidentally stumbled upon the beauty section of my dollar store, but it is true! Here are the top ten beauty products I have discovered!

1. L.A Colors Expressions Bronzers and Blushes.

Okay, these are honestly great for the price. They come in multiple different colors and are really vibrant. For only $1.00, this is a steal. My $10.00 blush does about the same, the only difference is the brand name.

2. L.A Colors Eye-shadow Pallets.

So again, L.A Colors' products are really vibrant. Some of their eye-shadow pallets have the most vibrant colors. It really is great when you need an odd or bright color because most brands don't make those colors. Not only are the colors good, its pigmented nicely too.

3. Nail polish

A lot of nail polishes are $6+. The dollar store has multiple brands like Wet 'N Wild, L.A. Colors, and Sally Hansen. All of these brands apply well, are opaque with one or two coats and are offered in tons of colors. They range from glitter to neon colors, metallic to matte to top coats. All for $1 each!

4. Hair Ties!

Alright, where are my girls with really thick hair? Hair ties are a nightmare with thick hair. They break constantly, so a pack of 100 may only last a month or so. This is probably my favorite in this list because you can get so many for only $1, whereas in Wal-Mart it costs about $5 for half of the amount.

5. Bobby Pins

With thick hair bobby pins are like one use. So again, this is a huge deal for this many bobby pins. They also come in brown for all of us out there who have lighter hair.

6. Combs and Brushes

How about all of those time we are brushing or combing our hair and hit a knot, what happens? The bristles of the brush come out or the teeth of the comb snap, right? Well, it's not such a sad and scary experience anymore since we can get combs and brushes from the dollar store and not pay $8 every time it happens.

7. Eyeliner Pencil/Brow Pencil

These are the Colormates Black-Brown Eyeliner and Brow pencils. It is a two pack; you get both an eyeliner and a brow pencil for $1! That there is a life saver honestly. I love these, in my opinion they glide on so well.

8. Pedicure Kits

Want a pedicure? The dollar store has you covered, they have multiple different pedicure kits that have those little foam toe separators. Pair it with one of the cute nail polishes that you got earlier and you're set. I mean, you may not have the foot massage, but think of all the money you'll save!

9. Body Sponge

Who doesn't like these? Really though, they're great! Not a lot cheaper than other stores, but still cheaper. And I mean, you're already there getting everything else, so why not just get this too.

10. Bath Salts

Stressful day? It'll be okay, just get some scented bath salts from the dollar store and take a nice, long bath. They have all different kinds of scents and I am nearly 100% sure you'll feel better after you relax with their calming scent.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
