Oh, the nostalgia. Coming home from elementary school, turning on the TV, and seeing one of these iconic Disney movies playing had to be one of the best feelings ever. I would like to take this time to dedicate my hermit-like behavior to the creators of these movies.
1. Halloweentown (1998)
One of the most beloved halloween classics of our generation. 3 siblings, (Marnie, Alex, and Sophie) discover that their mother (Gwen) and grandmother (Aggie) are real-life witches, when Aggie visits on Halloween. The kids, (angry they aren't allowed to trick-or-treat), follow their grandmother to the bus stop and soon realize that it is not just a normal bus, but one that takes them to Halloweentown, a world full of all kinds of creatures. Throughout this movie, the kids learn to use their powers and help their grandmother save Halloweentown.
2. Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century (1999)
Zenon, a teenage girl living in a space station on the moon, gets herself involved into some dodgy doings being performed by fellow residents on the space station. This ultimately gets her sent down to earth.
3. Smart House (1999)
This is hands down one of my favorites on the list. A family composed of a single father of two children, a boy (Ben), and a girl (Angie), win a smart house from a online sweepstakes that Ben had entered them in. What seems like a blessing, soon turns into a nightmare.
4. The Luck of the Irish (2001)
Kyle Johnson is a popular high school basketball player of Irish heritage, (not to his knowledge). He was given a lucky coin, and one day discovers it has been stolen. He begins to grow pointy ears, and his body begins to shrink. Now, Kyle has to chase down the man who stole his coin and get it back before something bad happens.
5. Get a Clue (2002)
Lindsay Lohan stars as Lexy Gold, a teenage high school student who is on a mission to investigate the disappearance of one of her teachers. With the help of her friends, she embarks on the journey to recover the teacher.
6. Pixel Perfect (2004)
This is my FAVORITE Disney Channel movie to ever be created, and I doubt there will ever be one like it. Yet another high school student, Roscoe is desperately trying to help his friend Samantha because her band is in jeopardy of breaking up. With the help of his fathers computerized holographic machine, he creates a girl named Loretta, to dance for Samantha's band. But soon Loretta realizes she isn't real and begins to struggle with her identity. Roscoe now has to help her discover herself.
7. Stuck in the Suburbs (2004)
Danielle Panabaker plays a girl named Brittany who accidentally switches phones with her idol Jordan Cahill (Taran Killam). Coincidentally, he comes to her town to shoot a music video and that is when the two collide.
8. Cow Belles (2006)
Aly & AJ Michalka star in this comedy as two spoiled sisters who are forced to work at their fathers dairy factory. But when the factory funds go missing, the girls help their fellow employees uncover who is behind the crime.
9. Read It and Weep (2006)
Kay Panabaker stars as Jamie Bartlett who develops an alter ego through her personal journals. But when those journals are accidentally printed, and sent to her English teacher and then published in the newspaper, her world turns upside down.
Overall, I would highly recommend any and all of these movies to people of all ages, as they are great films and will surely put a smile on your face.
