We only have so many weeks left of summer, and there's so much left to do. Connecticut has a lot to offer for all ages. Here's a top 10 list of my favorite things our beautiful state has available to us this summer.
1. Concerts at Xfinity Theatre
Pitbull, Rascal Flatts, Blink 182 and Jason Aldean are all lined up to close out the summer and will be concerts you won't want to miss. Make sure to get to the venue early to avoid traffic and get in some good tailgating time!
2. Baseball Games
What's more American than watching baseball (and having a hotdog and a beer) in the summer? The Hartford Yardgoats won't be on the scene until next summer, but for now, you can catch games all over the state including the New Britian Bees and the Bristol Blues! The Blues are known to have $1 hotdog days each week, which is always my favorite day of the week.
3. Mystic Village/ Mystic Aquarium
If you're over 21, this is the place to be for the summer. This Old Lyme hot spot includes a full outdoor bar and live music right on the beach. What could be better?!
5. Milkcraft Ice Cream
6. Take a hike
7. Sunflower fields at Buttonwood Farms
8. Alive-at-Five
9. Drive in Movies
With locations in Southington, Mansfield, and Barkhamsted, park your car with some of your closest friends and catch an outdoor movie one weekend this summer!
10. Mini golf
It's a little corny, I know, but I love a good round of mini golf in the summer. Top it off with a trip to the ice cream shoppe after, and you're good to go for a fun-filled summer night!
Whatever you decide to do this summer, make the most of it! Our days in the sun are numbered, so enjoy them while you can!
