All around the United States, there are millions of races that capture the human eye. Here are the top 10 best 5Ks in the United States.

1. Electric Run

This ultimate night time race is the best 5K in the United States. You are integrated into different worlds as you run. The worlds are: rainforest, candy lane, under the sea, rainbow road, and powerhouse. Each of these lands as well as the start and finish lines are covered in amazing LED light exhibits. This race is hosted by the same company as the color run so it is guaranteed to be a blast. Come to the light race decked out in your best light-up attire and have a blast.

2. Inflatable Run

This crazy obstacle race is challenging and fun at the same time. This race is 3.1 miles of blow up obstacles just waiting to be conquered. You need a team to run this race and must cross the finish line as a team. This team building obstacle defeating race is sure to get many giggles and squeals.

3. Run For Your Lives

Runners will be chased by zombies as they go through the race. At the beginning of the race each runner will have three flags or “lives.” Keep all three flags and end the race alive not dead. This race is fun for the whole family. Who doesn’t want to take your average haunted trail and turn it into a race?

4.Twinkie Run

This April Fools Day race allows anything to happen. This sweet race is held in Ann Arbor, Michigan at Gallup Park. For this sweet 5K, runners will eat Twinkies before, during and after the race. This sweet race is one you won’t want to miss.

5.Hot Chocolate 15/5K

This chilly race takes you through the scenic parts of beautiful Chicago, Illinois. Once you finish this festive race warm yourself up with a nice hot cup of hot chocolate at the finish line. This race is for all ages. Come out and view Chicago and drink yummy, hot chocolate.

6. Turkey Trot

This Thanksgiving Day race is sure to involve the whole family. Run off those extra calories before enjoying a wonderful, Thanksgiving meal. Dress as a turkey, a pilgrim or even in your favorite pjs. This race will bring the whole family together.

7.Rock n Roll

This Vegas race is one to bring out all walks of life. When registering, you can personalize your racing bib up to 12 characters. For this race you will run the Vegas Strip at night getting to experience all the strip has to offer with lights and fountains. You won’t want to miss this rocking race.

8. Foam Fest


This sudsy race will leave you looking like you just ran through a car wash. Throughout this race, there will be obstacles to complete as you are running. You can either run as an individual or a team. So grab some friends and come out to foam fest and tackle those bubbles.

9. Jingle Bell Run


This holiday-themed race is team based. Get a team together and raise funds for a cure to arthritis. Once you have your team come out dressed in your best holiday attire and tie jingle bells to your shoes and run till your nose is red.

10. Color Run

The name "Color Run" is sweeping the nation in most popular 5K. You can either run as an individual or a team. You wear all white and as you run there is color power thrown and shot at you. At the end of this fun messy race you are covered head to toe in a rainbow of color.

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes.
