A Thank You to My Step Dad

You came in and helped raise me, even when you didn't have to.

A Thank You to My Step Dad

With having divorced parents, there is always the chance of getting a step parent. I was lucky enough to get both. I was blessed with a step dad and then shortly after that, a step mom. This is going to be mostly geared toward my step dad. But don't doubt that I'm not thankful for my step mom as well.

Where to begin is the question; I guess with a thank you. Thank you for seeing a broken home and still wanting to be apart of it. Thank you for stepping in and loving me as if I were your own - Just thank you.

Thank you for being another person I could talk to. Thank you for helping me and encouraging me. Thank you for being hard on me when mom wouldn't. Thank you for liking my boyfriend (which is extremely good!). Thank you for literally everything.

Thank you for helping shape me into who I am. I know I was the easiest child to help raise. I was eleven, and definitely didn't like the idea of my mom with someone else. But now I couldn't imagine her without you. Even on the hard days.

I love you, and I hope I also make you proud. Even if I'm going to OSU, I know you'll be here to support me. You just won't wear orange.

I hope you know that I do appreciate you, and I don't know what I wouldn't do without you.

“I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I’m telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.”

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
