Being a tomboy isn't the worst thing in the world for me. I grew up with three brothers, so my life was mostly about learning things like how to tube the correct way and how to change my own tires, rather than what shoes to buy and how to apply eyeliner.

If you're like me, you're a cross between a tomboy and a girly girl. Like, you don't really want to go shopping a lot, but you don't always want to play in dirt, either. Actually, I hate shopping all the time, so I don't want to go at all, honestly.

I enjoy my sweatpants, leggings, and t-shirts. I could live my whole life without ever dealing with a pair of heels or skirts. Not my thing.

However, I don't mind wearing dresses. Mostly because it's one less piece of clothing that I have to match with. And, as long as they're comfortable. I am not wearing a dress that's super short and revealing.

As previously mentioned, I hate shopping. I don't like trying clothes on in dressing rooms, I hate having to go back and forth to get a different size, and I really can't stand having to wait in line just to buy one thing. Seriously. I'd rather just sit there and watch someone else do that, while I eat.

I'm not afraid to eat a huge cheeseburger and fries in front of anyone, and I don't really get why anyone else would be, either...

Food is one of my best friends, and I'm not ashamed. Gotta have that strawberry milkshake.

I never was put in pageants, or shown how to foo-foo myself up. I don't do heels, and I look like a giraffe learning to walk when I attempt to walk in them. I barely know how to apply my own makeup.

Like, I don't even understand what "highlighting" and "contouring" are. I think I learned how to apply mascara without touching my eyeball for the first time about 2 years ago. Yes, I'm serious.

My entire makeup routine probably takes about 7-10 minutes to complete. It's a miracle that I know how to do it at all.

I never really watched sports, but since I've met my boy, I've gotten into baseball and sometimes football. I'd rather watch a baseball game now than "Fixer Upper".

If the choice were beer or a fruity drink, I'd probably go fruity, though.

I don't know how to make my hair perfect, or not frizzy during the summer. It's usually up in a ponytail or a bun, so I don't have to deal with it. I hate using curling irons, but I'm not always opposed to straighteners.

Honestly, I don't even know what kind of girl I am sometimes.

I just go with the flow and I'm sticking to it.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
