Tom Hanks And Bill Murray Are #LifeGoals

We should all want to be as happy and beloved at them when I'm their age.

Imagine you just got married. You and your significant other are all dressed up and doing a photo shoot. You're in a public park, so people are bound to be walking by. One guy in particular comes walking past, but instead of passing through and letting you continue on with your photo shoot, he walks right up to you, takes off his hat and says, "Hi, I'm Tom Hanks." One lucky couple in New York City had just this experience. Mr. Hanks then took a selfie with the couple and posted it to his social media accounts, complete with a congratulatory message for the newlyweds:

Perhaps even more famous than Tom Hanks and his propensity for impromptu photo shoots is the legendary Bill Murray.

Bill Murray has reached mythical heights in his later life through his habit of crashing parties (and offering sagely advice), taking up bartending on the fly (to serve people tequila shots regardless of what they order), perfecting the art of golf apparel.

Tom Hanks and Bill Murray are easily two of the most iconic actors to ever grace us with their existence, and the reputations that they've gained as wayward event crashers are certainly well-deserved. That is why the lives of these two legends are the ultimate #LifeGoals.

Think about it. How great it must be to have lived a successful enough life that you're set to retire at a reasonable age (Tom Hanks is 60, and Bill Murray is 66), and yet still have a job that you love enough to keep on doing for however long you wish. How great it must be to be so beloved that you can go anywhere and do anything, like crash a private party or walk right up on a couple's photo shoot, and be welcomed with the warmest of embraces.

That is the kind of life to which we should all aspire, and it isn't as much a reach as we all think it is. It doesn't take the kind of international acclaim that Bill Murray and Tom Hanks have garnered to have this kind of life.

(Don't listen to him.) You don't have to be rich or famous to be somebody that everybody wants to have around late into life. You don't have to be an irreverent actor to have a job you love. You just have to have the kind of approach to life that Bill Murray and Tom Hanks have shown that the human spirit is entirely capable of taking, and some day you'll find yourself crashing peoples' parties and photoshoots without issue.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
