Walter M. Williams High School.
Good ole' days.
I remember climbing out of my sister's, now my, Jeep Liberty. It was a nerve-wracking day. One that I will never forget. I locked eyes with my first friend that day. To this day we still laugh about what it was like in high school and how we wouldn't change it. There are so many memories laced throughout those walls. My award-winning art hanging in the principal's office, the free college application days, somewhat enjoyable classes with good teachers, and moments in the girl's bathroom where gossip was shared will be sketched in my memory forever.
I can't believe it has been almost four years since I graduated. Since I walked across that stage, almost tripping, and smiling my way through it. Wearing that gold and black was one of my proudest days. I am proud to say I am bulldog (bulldawg). I am proud to have been a part of such an amazing graduating class.
Williams, you were what I dreaded to wake up in the morning to drive too senior year. Having a parking spot in that senior lot, second semester was a dream come true. Because the walk was finally shorter. Williams, your parking lot was the place where my best guy friend jokingly would try to run me over every day (at 8:10 when the bell rang). You were the greatest four years of my life. I am glad I can look back on it and say I graduated from you. Sure we weren't the greatest or the best looking but hey, we had a decent football team (HEDC #5). We had a strong family atmosphere that we couldn't change and we wouldn't.
Thank you to my favorite Chorus teacher, Mrs. Sam. Without you, I wouldn't of realized how much I loved music. Even if I didn't pursue it. I looked forward to having your class every day not because it was my last class before early release but because of the memories made in that classroom. The moment I realized I was a soprano but I was also an alto. You had me singing both sides. I was thankful for that. You made high school enjoyable. I loved the chorus concerts, the homecoming shows, the musical revues, and baccalaureate.
Thank you to Coach Clapp for helping me get through Accounting I and II one step at a time. Without you, I wouldn't of fallen in love with it as much as I did. Cause here I am still pursuing it and trying to make it to the finish line.
Thank you for making me realize who I am supposed to be. From the football games every Friday to the AP History classes with my favorite teacher; even though I am an accounting major. To giving me my best friends, the early morning car pools to golf tournaments for Academy of Finance, the laughter I shared with many people I wouldn't of even gotten to know if it wasn't for the organizations I was apart of it. Walter M. Williams High School, I am proud of the black and gold, the bulldog (mascot and actual dog), and just having the experience with you.
Thank you,
