A Letter to Those Worrying About The Future
Charlotte Russell

Dear worrier,

We are about to enter into a new year and that means that we have a chance to revisit the possibilities of new goals, new achievements, new changes, and other new things that the new year comes with. As the year comes to a close, we begin to worry about what lies ahead for us. For many of us, we fear the unknown. We want to be able to control our future. We want to be able to dictate when things are going to happen. We want to be able to make sure that things go our way and that anything that tries to divert us from that path will stay far, far away. Unfortunately, we can not have this control over life. We are subject to the craziness and unorganized blob that life is. When things remain unknown or don't seem to go the way that we plan, we often get frustrated with ourselves despite the fact that we can not control what is going to happen. I've been in the same place before. I'm someone who wants desperately to be able to control my life. I've found myself angry and upset with myself over things that I haven't been able to control. I've been hard on myself for really no reason at all. I've decided to have a different view on life going into 2019.

What I know now is that 2019 is going to be full of ups and downs and while I'm going to want to control them to the best of my ability, there are going to be things that I can't control. What I've learned from the past is the fact that everything turns out okay in the end. The things that you encounter in life may tear you down, but you are strong enough to keep building despite the demolition. You can make it past your darkest days. You have survived your worst days, you are strong enough to prevail further. The sun will rise again and you will be okay. Have faith in yourself. Know that you are stronger than you think. You have the capability to keep moving forward. Whatever happens to you in the future, whether it is good or bad, it will all work out for you. God has a plan for you and he knows what he is doing. If we put our trust in him, we should have no worries for tomorrow.

So for those worrying about the future, don't worry. It's all going to be okay.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
