Here we go. This is our last semester in White Co. Before too long, we will be scrolling through each other's Snapchat stories, Instagram photos, and Facebook statuses to see how the college life is treating everyone. We will make new friends, start new routines, and explore the world outside of our small town. So make these last moments we have together count. We are a family. We have a special bond like no other class before us. We've had our highs and our lows throughout the last 13 years. We lost two beautiful souls who were meant to be walking on stage with us at graduation. We all love and miss you, Greg and Cecily. We know you will be there with us in spirit on graduation day. We proved that we were more than a bunch of misfits. We stood up for what we believed in and showed that we have a voice too in the whole Valedictorian and Salutatorian squabble. Congratulations to Blake and Liam btw. Y'all definitely deserve this! Our Freshman year, we made a difference in this world with Dr.Cash and Mrs. J's Directing A Better World assignment. We learned to take off our rose colored glasses that society gave us so that we could see the cold, hard truth about what really goes on in this world. I remember filming, editing, and researching over 20 hours with Erin, Rosemary, and Payton to create the Deflowering of Daisy video (posted below). With this video, we raised a good bit of money for Love146 which is an organization that helps to get victims out of human trafficking in Atlanta. The Squawkflock became a thing (#cawcaw Maddie, Meredith, Alley, Mckenzie, Alena, Alyssa, Lydia, and Stephanie). We started making movie parodies of Project Almanac (2) and Jurassic World in Alley's Basement. Our Sophomore year, we finally got to step foot in White County High School and began to discover the dreams and goals that we wanted to achieve in our next three years of high school. We again learned the hard lesson of not knowing how much time we have left in this world so we have to thank God for every moment we have and make our impact. Our Junior year, we started to really think of where we wanted to go in life and what God has planned for us after high school. Through Mrs. Sills' class, I learned that nursing is so much more than just caring for someone, but it's about being able to love someone during their weakest moments. No class will ever teach you about how to find dignity in giving someone a bed bath or dressing someone because they have lost the ability to do so. Our Senior year, we have made our mark in the history of White County. We fought to have a voice against injustice. We have learned with college visits and weekend explorations that there is so much more in this world than this small town. So here we go, our last few months as seniors at White County High School. Let's make amazing memories before we leave this town. Let's make our mark.Where ever we go in this world after graduation, we will forever be White Co's Class of 2017.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
