To The Unapologetically Sassy Girls

May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.

To the girls that are unapologetically sassy, here's to you. Here is to your no BS attitude, your pure honesty, and the way you fiercely protect those that you care about. Don't ever stop being the girl you are because someone has a problem with how you carry yourself. Don't adjust your personality (unless you really are being mean) for the boy who is just not used to girls standing up for themselves. Embrace your sass, and wear it proudly.

The sassy girls are also the unapologetically intelligent ones as well, we don't act submissive when it comes to issues and we never play dumb. Just like embracing our quick wit the sassy girl embraces her brains. The sassy girls are also too sarcastic for their own good sometimes, they don't usually apologize for anything they say or do. It's not that they don't think that they're wrong but that they think about everything before they say it. Sassy girls are also very meticulous they will think through everything they say, everything they wear, and every action they have. The sassy girls get mistaken for being bitchy and mean and I promise you that is not the case, we're just confident in ourselves.

In relationships the sassy girls are hard to read, hard to handle, and hard to appreciate. We're not good at feelings, when it comes to someone we care about we have a hard time explaining how we feel sometimes and that gets frustrating for the boys in our lives. Not only are we hard to handle sometimes we also thrive on the fact that we are fiercely independent and sometimes that makes it hard for boys to feel needed but we still want to be appreciated. The sassy girls do a lot for everyone and although we give off the vibe that we don't care about what others think or say sometimes it's just really nice for us to hear a thank you.

The sassy girl was the kind of girl I looked up to when I was younger. She was strong, and beautiful, and independent. The girls that sad what they felt and meant it. They demanded authority and respect. The thing about the sassy girl being in your life if you aren't already one, is that she will change you. She will show you her sassy way of life and the way that she goes through it with no regrets. The sassy girl teaches you that living fearlessly is the second best way to live. The type of girl that you want to be is the sassy, classy, and a bit smart-assy kind.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that.
