To the high scchool teacher that inspired me,
There were days when I would dread putting on the skirt and polo and get ready for class, but I knew I had to. In a world where rumors spread like wildfire and judgment as if you were standing in front of God waiting to see if you're chosen to enter the gates of Heaven, it was hard to find enjoyment in every single day, but somehow it was possible. It was possible because of you.
I think everyone has that one teacher, the one teacher who stood in front of the class and was able to teach more than just the subject at hand. Deep within those lessons were small, little life-lessons that you embedded for us to realize later since we didn't understand what was happening then.
It's hard for me to describe why you meant this much to me and inspired me so much. I'm not even sure you are aware of the kind of impact you left on me and many of my peers. After the tragic accident, a couple of our classmates were in, you were there to help us grieve and cope. Not many professors could help the way you did, but you did it. You were so much more than a teacher that taught her lesson plans.
I would like to thank you by this letter, so you can look back and remember on the hard days that you are amazing, and you've impacted so many others just like me. Through your actions and your words, you are more than just a teacher looking and preaching her lesson plans, but a role model for each and every student that walks through the halls of high school.
I would like to believe you were put into our lives for a reason. Each of us could've chosen to attend a different high school, but we ended up here. In your classroom. You inspired all of us. You helped us mature as young adults and even helped some of us decide what was in store for our futures.
So thank you, for you are one of the reasons I am who I am today. With every day beginning with a smile in your classroom, I was able to put on my skirt and polo and happily jump out of bed when my early alarm went off.
Sincerely,
A student who should've thanked you earlier
