It is weird isn't it? You are always asked what you want to be when you grow up since day one of your school career. You either said Astronaut, Rock star, Princess, or a Cow Boy. After you were almost done with high school, you get that same question asked again, but you have a more realistic answer.... Doctor, Veterinarian, Dentist, Psychologist, Lawyer, etc. We have the thought it our mind, that if we do not pick something soon, we will be not so lucky. Here is what I know...We as soon to be adults, are going to change our minds probably a hundred times before we know exactly what we want to do.

Don't get nervous when you are sitting in a lecture hall, learning about your "major" and end up absolutely hating it. No one told you who you should be.

You are your own person and that's how it has to be. Do not, I repeat DO NOT stay with something you are completely hesitant about.

Take the chance to walk away while you can, before you end up being unhappy with the rest of your life because you are not doing something that makes you feel good.

Take a bunch of electives throughout the first couple semesters of college, because you might find your calling in one of those classes. Maybe you love to draw, or play an instrument, or maybe you just really love working with others.

Take the time to find out what you want to be instead of rushing through it not figuring it out at all.

Change your major when you know for sure, that what you are doing now, you really despise.

Learn to be okay with your decision and know that everything will work out in the end for you. I know that a lot of college kids do not stay in the major they intended to do when they first started out in college.

Do not feel rushed by students, faculty, parents, friends, etc. you make time for you and learn different things you never thought you would enjoy.

College is not only supposed to be all about working towards your goal of what you want to do, but finding that one specific thing that you love doing.

The worst feeling someone can feel, is regret so do not regret anything in college and do not regret making the right decision.

Know your worth and do not sell yourself short, always make choices for you and no one else.

GOOD LUCK!

* Hello everyone, I hope you enjoyed this article....I wrote this because I am thinking about changing my major as well. Right now I am a Psychology Major, but I think I am changing it to Communications with a minor in Journalism. It is never to late to start where you want to end up.
