Step parents always get a bad rap. They are known as the "wicked step parents" in most movies that do terrible things to you when no one is looking or sabotage you to make your life miserable. But after having both a step mother and a step father my whole life, I can tell you with 100% certainty that's FAR from the truth. Step parents like mine are underrated and that's a fact.

A 'thank you' to you both ...

To my stepdad: Thank you for helping me becoming the person I am today and teaching me that it's okay to be myself. Thank you for making me laugh and laughing at my jokes too. Thank you for talking sports with me, even if I don't always know what I'm talking about. Thank you for always taking my car to the shop when my check engine light comes on for the thousandth time. Thank you for ordering that appetizer even when mom says no. Thank you for always being there for me and to help guide me in the right direction. Thank you for giving me three amazing siblings and a roof over my head. Thank you for always making sure I have what I need and more than. Thank you for treating me like nothing less than your own. Thank you for loving me and most importantly, thanks for being what a stepdad is supposed to be.

To my stepmom: Thank you for helping me become who I am today and teaching me to be kind always, no matter how hard it may be. Thank you for showing me the best beauty products. Thank you for letting me be silly. Thank you for helping me find interesting classes to take each semester. Thank you for being the best gift giver and helping me with gift ideas for others, too. Thank you for being there whenever I need you. Thank you for encouraging me to look at the brighter side of things when I can only think of the negative. Thank you for always making sure I have what I need and then some. Thank you for being understanding and caring. Thank you for treating me like nothing less than your own. Thank you for loving me and most importantly, thanks for being what a stepmom is supposed to be.

You guys mean the world to me and I don't tell you enough.

I wouldn't be who I am today without either of you. You guys helped me become me and I couldn't imagine a world without you both. I appreciate you more than you know and all you have done for me throughout my lifetime. I love you both so much, and don't ever forget it!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
