Let The Road Take Care Of It

It's easy to get lost, to lose all track of yourself. It's easier to let life's troubles and obstacles cloud your soul and the things you want the most in life. People look at other other people and assume that they have it better, they assume that their worlds are the only ones falling apart, and that is not even close to the truth. The truth is, every one has their bad days and their good; every one cries and laughs, and every single person on this earth has experienced loss, pain, heartbreak, and numbness; we just only show people what we want them to see, but all the other things, we keep hidden.

Instead of casting your problems on to others, onto the nothingness of the world, and slipping deeper and deeper in to your own head and losing yourself with in your own darkness, I want you to try something.

Get in your car, turn on your favorite music as loud as you can handle it, turn on an old back road, and just drive. Drive to no destination, drive with out care. Focus on the music blaring through the speakers, feel the vibrations in your body, feel the loneliness on the night, while your headlights tear through it. Focus on nothing else.

You feel the feeling of peace again, you feel the tears dry, the problems fade for just a little part of your day and the only thing you sense to care about is that road, that song, and the feeling running through your entire core. It's the feeling of euphoria, the feeling of life again. I promise you, it will change you. The red light ahead will look different, the shadows with in the trees will look more beautiful, little things become big things, and for that hour or two your in your own world, you are lost within yourself, and for the first time in a long time, you feel like you and what you want will truly matter. It's euphoria.

I don't expect a simple car ride to no where will fix all life problems, but I know it will fix that night for you. It will fix the feeling of numbness for an hour, it will fix you. To the person who's struggling right now; you are not weak, you are not impossible to handle, and you are going to get through this.

Find simplicity with in yourself, find simplicity in something you love doing, and find the love you once had for something. Life also has a way of changing, life has a way of working it self out, so please hold on. Hold on for another morning, another sunrise, because you never know it, but the next sunrise could be your euphoria.

To the person who is struggling; get in your car, and let the music do the rest. A song, a single song could change the mood of any single person, and it can fix you too.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
