To The Person Who Tried To Make My Life Miserable

Its easy to say we all know that one person who goes out of their way to make sure someone else is miserable in order to make themselves feel better or more “confident”, and if you are that person, listen up.

First things first, there’s a lot more I care about than the dirty glances or sub-Tweets. I care about my friends, family, my job, education, politics, global issues, whether the sun is dying or not, etc. The list goes on, and ironically, you don't get to tell me that my opinion is wrong or right anymore. Hence, why I’m writing to you.

Why does it matter if I am succeeding? I work hard and put in 100% effort in everything I do. It's impossible to think that the the world is just going to hand you your desires and tangible wants. If I work so hard, why try prying my success away from me? I put in passion and give my all. If you spent a little more time away from trying to hurt others, you might find that the world is beautiful and there are so many opportunities you can attempt to acquire.

No matter how hard you have tried to knock me down, I will always come back. There will no longer be a need to fight against you. I'm extremely busy lately and have a lot on my mind, and having to even think about what repugnant ideas are brewing in your head is absolutely not a topic I plan on worrying about. The amount of determination and will power I have far surpass your motive to distract me from what I need to do. Even if that means just going to get a taco.

I fight for my friends, I fight for my family, and I’ll fight for anything I love, because nobody should ever feel the way you have made me feel before. One thing I will not fight for is try to feel good around you. If you have to stoop so low as to make me feel unwanted and miserable, then you should probably change your course of direction. I just wanted to thank you for changing my perspective. Without you, I wouldn't be the person I've decided to become, because starting today, I am strong, powerful, and ready for whatever life throws my way. Starting in 3...2...1..

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
