"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. “ Jeremiah 29:11
If you’re anything like me, from an early age you start thinking about your life. You think of what job you want, what college you want to go to, what age you want to be married by, making sure your crushes last name goes well with your name just in case you marry them one day, silly I know. Well sometimes life doesn’t go like we plan, dreams change, relationships change, life in general is always changing.
You always see people you went to school with what seems like the perfect life, from getting engaged, married and having kids, to traveling abroad for school, getting degrees and you can’t help but wonder sometimes when is it my turn for all of these things?
Everyone always says don’t rush God's plan, good things take time, when one door closes another one will open. I’m sure a lot of us are stuck wondering how many more doors we have to go through to get our happily ever after. There is only one person with that answer and that is God Himself.
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's plan for you in Christ Jesus.” Thessalonians 5:18.
Sometimes we don’t understand God's plan, and I know we are all guilty of questioning why things happen the way they do sometimes, from not getting into the school you wanted, a relationship ending, losing a loved one way too soon.
All of these things happen every day and it will definitely make you question why you are going through all of this. As hard as it is, you just have to trust that God has a plan for you, you have to continue to put Him first in all aspects of your life. When bad things happen in life there is always a reason behind it, and if you are too focused on all of the bad, you may never see the good that comes from it.
Always ask God to be with you and guide you in any situation, you may not get the answer you want but as one of my favorite songs says, “some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers."
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5
Talk to God, He listens. It may not seem that way at times, but as I said, sometimes what you are asking Him for isn’t what you need. Ask for guidance and ask for help. Tell Him to lead you where you need to be in life, direct you and guide you. It may not work out in a week or a month, but God has a plan specifically for you.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
I cannot say it enough, trust in His plans, life will get you down, you will fight the devil on your shoulder that’s telling you that you aren’t good enough or you’re past the point of being saved, but that is far from the truth.
We serve a faithful and loving God. No matter what you’ve done, no matter where you’ve been you can always run back to Him. You are his child, and no parent ever wants to see their child suffer. There is a purpose behind everything you are going through. Its building you to be a better person and positioning you to do whatever God's plans for you are.
God wouldn’t bring you this far to leave you. You will do great things if you just believe He is working everything out in your favor. Know God will always be there for you, and everything in life has a purpose even if we dont understand it at the time. Most importantly never give up on Him because He will never give up on you.
