To The Person I Left Behind

I still have a place for you in my heart, just not in my life.

Looking back, I know this is far from where either of us wanted to be. There was a time when I couldn't imagine my life without you. You were my right hand, my go to. Where there was one, you could bet on finding the other. No one ever thought it would come to this. After all the time we spent together and all of the plans we made, I never imagined that it would be just me again. Both of us have a certain path in life, and all we can do is hope that one day, maybe just maybe, our paths will cross again.

To the person I left behind, I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I walked out on you. I'm sorry that I left without warning. To be honest, I don't even really remember when it happened. We drifted apart and it seemed easier to give up and let go than to stay and try to fix it. I'm sorry that I left behind dreams and our goals. I'm sorry that I left you on your own. I'm sorry that you trusted me with your heart, and I broke it.

To the person I left behind, thank you. Thank you for showing me what it's like to be loved. Thank you for being my light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for, from what I can tell, understanding why I did what I did. Thank you for being my safe place all of the times I needed one. Thank you for loving me so unconditionally. Thank you for teaching me the most valuable life lessons. Thank you for defending me no matter what, even when I didn't deserve it.

To the person I left behind, I'm still rooting for you. I might not be by your side anymore, but I'm still wishing the best for you. I still want you to succeed. I hope this life brings you everything you want, and so much more because you deserve the world, don't let anyone convince you of anything less. Your passion for helping others is one of the things that I loved most about you, and I know you're going to do great things with it one day.

To the person I left behind, I still love you. You will always have a special place in my heart, one that is irreplaceable. The timing just wasn't right for us, and that's something that breaks my heart. Maybe one day down the road, the timing will be right and we'll find ourselves together again. Until that day comes, know that I still love you and there's no way that I will ever stop.

Life is quick to throw you curveballs, and everything changes in the blink of an eye. There's nothing you can do to make time slow down, you just have to cherish the time you have while you have it. Don't take a single moment, or person, for granted. All you can really do is sit back, and enjoy the ride and hope that maybe someday, everything will be okay again.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
