Think about the last time you looked in a mirror, what did you see? Did you see someone who is proud of herself or someone who is ashamed of herself? We've all felt insecure before, whether that be with our physique, smile, etc. We have all have some type of insecurity that we face.
I once knew someone who was so insecure about herself, that she couldn't wear shirts that didn't cover any part of her arm that was located above her elbow. She felt so disgusted with her arms that she refused to show them. That girl was in fact me. Not only did I want almost my entire arm covered, but I was also insecure with my physique. I didn't look like anyone else, size wise, and it made me wonder why. Why didn't I look like anyone else? I can officially say that I don't care how much of my arm is showing or what I look like. I have become aware that not everyone else's opinion matters, and neither do the words that they say. I've grown out of that nutshell and have influenced others to grow with me as well.
If you're insecure about something, find the source of what makes you feel that way. Are you insecure of your teeth because they're not as white as everyone else's? Are you insecure about your physique because you are smaller or bigger than the others? Are you insecure about your face because it looks to dry or red? Ask yourself what makes you insecure and why it makes you insecure. You never know how to overcome it if you don't find out.
Some insecurities can be changed. If you don't like how yellow your teeth are, try a new toothpaste or maybe some whitening mouthwash. If you don’t like the way certain clothes fit your body, try looking at some new options. If you don’t like how dry or red your face looks, try moisturizing. It doesn’t hurt to do little touch ups that could possibly help you overcome those insecurities. No matter what anyone tells you, you are beautiful. We are all beautiful.
Keep your head up and keep moving forward. You CAN make it through and no matter what insecurities you have, you can overcome the fact that they’re there. You are strong and you are magnificent. You are simply you.
