But first, let me say thanks to the OG squad. My high school homies. I wouldn't be half the person I am today without either of you. From runs we laughed so hard we stopped and peed our pants to going off the grid and (almost) getting attacked by the bears in the woods we never saw, you made me the happiest person in the world. I didn't know what true friendship meant until I met you two and I will be forever thankful that you opened your arms to me when I transferred. Long live molly n her pigz group chat!!!!

Now to the realist homies. I didn't even know you guys eight months ago yet here we are. You both thought you were going to hate me (ouch?) before you met me but I'm thankful you gave me a chance.

You both have pretty drastic personalities: 99% introvert and 100% extrovert. And then there's me: 60% - 40% but we make it work.

To the extrovert: You're like the sun: if you weren't around, days would just be dark, gloomy, and lacking life. Your spunk and compassion are awe-inspiring and every person that has the privilege to know you would definitely agree. You make every day seem more enjoyable. From bumping with the speaker in my backpack everywhere we go to me saying "no" whenever you propose you eat something mildly unhealthy (despite the fact that I go on to shove an obscene amount of chocolate chip cookies in my mouth every time I walk past the dessert bar), I don't regret any of the time we spent together. Come to think of it, the only time we really spend apart is when we're sleeping but that's okay. Thanks for putting up with me anyway :)

To the introvert: You are one of the most intimidating individuals I've ever met, not because you're mean, but because how fiercely independent you are. But hey, now we're homies!!! Thanks for being the peacemaker between extrovert and I that one time we got in a "fight" (surprise surprise). You always know when to call people's sh*t and you don't take it from anyone. Your intuition is second to none and you always know something's a bad idea long before anyone else. I love seeing your glorious face every morning, especially on morning run days. Sooooo anyway, maybe one day you'll accept my friend request on Facebook you Canadian bish. ;)

College is indescribably stressful, scary, and full of uncertainty. Just when you think you're ready to leave everything behind, you realize you're not. But thanks to the BEST people in the world, I'm okay. I'm not scared to take risks because I know you guys, like my parents, will be there to catch me when I fall and scold me when I mess up. You're not afraid to hold me accountable for my actions nor are you ever afraid to hold back how you feel.

You've seen me at my darkest of times and my happiest moments, and no matter happy or sad, you've always been there to support me. There's no other people I would rather spend every waking second of each day with. From 5 p.m. Nades for dinner to The Bachelor on Monday nights, we have grown incredibly close through our schedules and I can't wait what the next 3 years have to offer.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
