Mother’s Day is approaching, so I figured this article should be about you, my mom. You have been there since the day I was born and you haven’t left my side since then. In my 20 years of life, you have made so many sacrifices for both my siblings and I. Many of these sacrifices are so valuable to me that I feel like no matter what I do, I could never repay you for them. You have given up so many things just to raise us and make sure we were happy, taken care of, and had everything we needed. I am very fortunate to have such an amazing mother like you in my life because not many have the chance to experience that.
Without you, my life would more than likely be absolutely miserable. I wouldn’t have very many things. I wouldn’t have dinner to eat when I would come home from school or work. I wouldn’t have some to talk to about random things or show funny videos to. I wouldn’t have someone to go bargain shopping with or even have someone who would teach me how to shop smart like you do. I wouldn’t have someone to wake me up if I slept in on accident. My head and ears would be cold in the winter because I wouldn’t have anyone to crochet hats for me. I wouldn’t receive random updates on Ed Sheeran or Bruno Mars or even have someone at home to talk about makeup with. I wouldn’t even have anyone to geek out about the Sims with or understand why I am so obsessed with it. Most importantly, I wouldn’t have an amazing support system that keeps me going on my ups and downs.
I could go on and on about how many things I wouldn't have because of you, but that might take centuries to even get to the end of that list. You make my life so much better every day, so without you, my life would be a lot harder.
I know I can be very ungrateful and undeserving at the time and I may make it seem like I don’t appreciate what you do for me, but I truly do appreciate everything you do for me every single second of the day. I am sorry if I make you feel like you aren’t doing enough because you are doing more than enough. To me, you are the mom that everyone should inspire to be. Anyone who has a mom like you is truly blessed and lucky. My siblings and I are very lucky to have such a caring, creative, smart, and beautiful mom in our lives.
I know I am just fresh into my 20s, but you will be the reason why I can make it through some of the most important time of my life. You have since I was born, to when I went through elementary, middle, and high school, and now even college. You will be there when I am crying, happy, sad, lost, and even mad. I never lost faith in you being there for me. Because of you, I think Mother’s Day should be every day. Thank you for every single thing you do. I love you.
