To The Man Of My Dreams, Thank You

I'm thankful for you from the top of my head to the soles of my feet.

To The Man Of My Dreams, Thank You
Rachel Sparks

To the man of my dreams, thank you.

I’m fortunate enough to not only call you my boyfriend, but my best friend, and the man of my dreams. Thank you for always loving me even when I feel like I’m not enough. Thank you for making me laugh until I wheeze and can’t breathe. Thank you for looking at me like I’m perfect, even though we both know I have my flaws. Thank you for telling me time and time again that I’m enough (even though I never believe you, and you’re probably tired of saying it). Thank you for never giving up on me, even though I’ve wanted to give up on myself. I never imagined I could love and be loved so deeply until I met you, I didn’t realize it was humanly possible to hold this much love in my heart.

And then there was you.

Thank you for never letting me go to bed angry, because you know I can’t sleep when I’m upset. Thank you for showing me off to the world like I’m a prize; I won the lottery when I met you. Thank you for always taking me to Taco Bell when I want it, no matter how many times we go. Thank you for letting me win arguments, even when you’re right. Thank you for my promise ring and the promise that you made to me with it. Thank you for holding the door open for me like the true southern gentleman you are; I see women look at us with envy because of that. Thank you for holding my hand while I bawled watching “A Dog’s Purpose” in a theater full of people because you know dogs make me cry. Thank you for never breaking a promise (double trigger finger, babe). Thank you for never taking advantage of my kindness like people have done my entire life. Thank you for always taking my feelings into consideration when doing something. Never again will I have to worry about someone who only thinks about themselves.

Thank you for letting me be a part of your family. They’ve accepted me as one of their own and I love them like I love my own family. Thank you for laughing at my stupid jokes, I know they aren’t funny but you always pretend like they are (you’re the real MVP). Thank you for the countless selfies you’ve had to endure-most of them being very similar, but my hair didn’t look right so we had to redo it. Thank you for supporting me in everything I choose to do, because I know my constant psychology talk is annoying. Thank you for never making me feel insecure about myself or our relationship. Thank you for spoiling me with everything from tacos to Carmex to gummy worms (I will never have chapped lips again thanks to you).

Basically, thank you for everything you’ve done and continue to do for me. You’ve made me so happy since we started dating, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my bliss-filled life with you. I love you. Thank you. Always.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
