To The Love That Brings Peace

There is love that consumes your insides
It burns and hurts
Makes you understand you are alive
Because the pain and pleasure go hand in hand

There is love that is sweet
It offers no trouble
It craves attention and time
You give yourself to its beauty

Then there is the love
That makes you feel like you are at home
That makes you worry whether it is real or not
Because you do not see its expressions as strongly as the first two

Well, let me tell you
This last one might be the most precious of them all
The butterflies are replaced by the sensation of comfort
The burning of your heart is replaced with the peace of your mind

You find yourself trusting

You see yourself through the eyes of another
You learn how to love somebody else
And how to love yourself

You understand why love is something we all seek
When you look into their eyes and notice
The flame burning deep within
And the sweetness that overbears


You understand that your other half really is meant to complement you.
