Dear Guy That Will Love Her Next,

She loves love in its entirety. She believes in magical fairy tales, butterflies really live in her tummy and goosebumps under her skin wait to make the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. She believes that flowers and chocolate are overwhelming, but she could never resist a sweet scent or taste. Although, she knows love is not materialistic. She understands that understanding someone’s soul is the greatest blessing of all.

She doesn’t see her beauty. She can’t see her own eyes when they light up in sight of something she loves. She doesn’t understand that you will see her beauty. She does not and cannot fathom someone seeing her as beautiful, in her face or in her soul.

You will watch her examine the human race, you will watch her care for everyone in her life. You probably don’t know it, but on your first date she took note of the way you hold your coffee cup or the way your lips curve when you say her name. She will study every crease in your face and freckle in the sunlight. She will adulate your lazy eye and crooked smile.

She will speak her mind and she will say it like it is. This will take time. She will build the courage to tell you that the way you chew your gum is annoying and that your mother is a blessing no matter how critical she may be. She is blunt. She can be super strange. She likes to make double chins and she wants to be able to send them in a snap chat to you but have you still think she is beautiful. Her sense of humor is dry and witty, sometimes she is too sarcastic and you need to tell her to tone it down.

In time, she will tell you everything she keeps quiet in her brain. It will explain why she is the way she is. Why she reacts the way she does to certain events will all make sense. I promise her vulnerability will make you appreciate her more. You will see the strength she has and you will be amazed.

She is determined and spunky as hell. She does not stop. She will not stop. She sees the world as a blank canvas and she is etching her marks all over. She will drain herself exhausted for the people she loves, including you. Please do not take advantage of this. There are times when she will burn out and she will hate herself for it. She hates herself for being human.

Be fearless in the pursuit. Do not be afraid to love her. Do not be afraid to hold her when she cries and give her space when she flips. She will return the favor. She will love you like you have never been loved before. She will find what makes you passionate and she will love it. She will adore you and be loyal to you. You may not know it, but she will never give up on you.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
