Fairy tales have sent girls on wild goose chases for years now to find Prince Charming. And eventually, you find your prince. But sometimes you have to kiss a few frogs along the way, right? This doesn't mean that these frogs were bad people, just not the right ones for you. These "frogs" were the ones to show us the way; how we should or shouldn't be treated, what we do or don't want in a relationship and exactly what our "prince" should look like. It isn't always happily ever after, but that doesn't mean that our time was wasted. And eventually, you let one into your heart.

To the guy I let into my heart,

In the beginning, I'm not sure either of us realized the impact you were making in my life; but one thing's for sure, I'm thankful you did. You've shown me it is okay to let my guard down, and more importantly, it's okay to be comfortable in my own skin.

Thank you for being there to pick me up on the bad days and making the good days some of the best days. Thank you for treating my friends as if you'd been friends forever and not taking their threats of hurting you too seriously, but seriously enough. Thank you for the countless dates and the endless memories I will hold onto forever. Thank you for making me laugh until I cried and making me laugh when I was crying--these are by far some of my favorite memories. Thank you for simply but so importantly showing me how good the world can be.

And finally, thank you for opening up my heart. Being a strong believer in the fact that there is a reason for everything can only lead me to believe that there was a reason you were put into my life. No matter where life takes us, you are far more than just another frog.

To the guy I let into my heart, you will always have a special place there.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
