To The Girls Who Took Me In

Here's to you, and more importantly, here's to us.

To The Girls Who Took Me In
Lauren Meyer

I was the stray dog who needed a home, who needed a family to be a part of, who was searching for a place and people to call home. I was on my own and you decided to take a shot in the dark on the freshman girl with enough credits to live preferred housing, and you brought me into your home and friend group with arms wide open.

Before you took in me, I didn't have a friend group here. Now, I have the best. We've celebrated every holiday together and made second dinners a regular. From cleaning the house together and throwing a beach ball around and knocking literally everything over. We have each others backs and you know that if you ever need a DD I'm your girl (as long as you sing 'downtown'). Coffee is always something that can be counted on in the morning, no matter who brews it or who offers to drive to Dunkin. We can tell it like it is and give each other enough shit that if we looked enough alike you'd think we were siblings.

I thank you for taking a chance on me and I thank God that we become more than just friends but a family. You have done to much to support me, to listen to me cry and stress. You've helped me talk through my worries, and have celebrated my successes. You ask my opinion and take me seriously with my responses, and we've all learned so much from each other. So here's to us, the memories we've made and the memories we have yet to make.

I love you with all my heart, Lo.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

music sheet

Being a music major is not all kicks and giggles. In fact, there are days when I question my sanity and doubt myself as a musician. I know I am not the only one going through the struggle, and so here are 13 GIFs that I know my fellow music majors can relate to...
