To the Girls Who Caught Me

"I will never forget the day you three caught me and made me feel welcome and wanted."

To the Girls Who Caught Me

I ran as fast as I could right into your arms, to a place I would call home. I knew when you caught me that I was home because I never felt happier to be caught by three of my closest friends, who will soon become my sisters.

Thank you. Thank you for not letting me fall and welcoming me to a sisterhood that I know will always have their arms wide open whenever I need them. Thank you for making me feel comfortable and at ease when I was nervous, reminding me that the best has yet to come. Running straight into your arms reassured me that you will always have my back, whatever the situation.

I am beyond blessed to have friends like you! Thank you for encouraging me every day, introducing me to new people and giving me a sense of belonging. I didn’t know what it truly meant to “run home” until I was enthralled in an abundance of love and joy! Running toward the girls that I would eventually call my sisters, was not me running toward a reputation, decorative letters or a stereotype.

I ran home to a support system of women who will always catch me when I fall and forever encourage me to be the best version of myself. I will never forget the day you three caught me and made me feel welcome and wanted, which is all I could ever ask for.

It gives you this feeling of sadness and impending doom. You have no idea how this is going to go or how long you'll be here, but you do know it is about to be the most excruciating experiences yet. But it has to get done, so you drag yourself to the lovely library.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.
