To The Girls Who Aren't Looking For Something Serious

When you're the girl who engages in casual relationships, people like to make assumptions.

I know you're tired of people saying that you're "better than this lifestyle". When you're the girl who engages in casual relationships, people like to make assumptions. Sometimes they will think you're insecure, that you secretly want something more-- though that might have been true at one time-- you know it's not your intention these days.

Sometimes your lifestyle makes people uncomfortable; so much so that they try to convince you that it's not what you want at all-- in there eyes you are only playing hard to get. When you state that all you wanted was what you stated originally, you are told that there is something wrong with you.

People will call you a "tease", "slut", "whore", "tramp", or "bitch"--to your face, or behind your back. However, these same people don't try to understand how much your past committed relationships have actually hurt you, how he made you feel like you were hard to love, selfish, isolated, and treated your future as if it was his own.

When you're the girl who engages in casual relationships, you should realize there is nothing wrong with you because you do not completely understand your feelings for someone, there is nothing wrong with you for not wanting to feel tied down. You deserve to feel the exhilaration of sliding on ice and the satisfaction of catching yourself before you slip and fall.

When you're the girl who engages in casual relationships-- others will not always understand your choices, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't thrive. Just because you give into lust from time to time doesn't mean your accomplishments and successes are any less valid; just because you are able to walk in and out of someone's arms easily doesn't mean you are easy. You are strong and secure enough to be content on your own and not everyone is used to that-- but that doesn't make it a bad thing.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

mu bucket list

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

Great Value Colleges

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.

The winters at Kent are brutal, and while the heated sidewalks and some great snow boots are always a help, there’s no chance you won’t bust it on the ice at least once in your four plus years at school.
