An Open Letter To The Girl Who Will Replace Me

I'm still not over him.

An Open Letter To The Girl Who Will Replace Me

To the girl who will replace me,

There are just a couple of things I thought I should tell you. I learned these while I was the object of your guy's affection and love. First of all, do not be frightened if he smothers much more love on you than you had expected. Do not be surprised if he treats you much better than any other guy you have ever met, because he will! Let it not scare you that he will actually listen carefully to every word you say, even when you're just running off things that bothered you for the day.

He is hurt easily, especially by the painful words a careless girl will say. Be warned now, if you do hurt him, then you will have to pay the price of seeing the broken look in his passionate and deep dark brown eyes. And please, do not say I love you to him, unless you really mean it. Nothing hurts him more than someone who really does not care.

Sometimes, he will not tell you what he is feeling, but just know that he is protecting you. If you ever feel that something is not right, just look into his beautiful eyes and you will be able to see into him. You can see everything he is feeling, everything he is thinking, everything that is not right with him. I promise he will not ever try to hurt you, because he is just not that way; please do not hurt him because if you do, I do not think I could ever forgive you. I do not think there could ever be a worse feeling in the world than knowing that you have the boy that I love and knowing that you hurt him.

You should know that if you two ever get into a fight, make sure you pick the ones worth fighting for. He will always keep his temper and might even curse at you but he will never call you names, despite the anger he may be feeling. Though he might act mature, most of the time, once he has given you his heart, he will begin to open up to you and his silliness will make your heart smile in a way that words cannot explain.

You will find that he is a busy, hard-working young man, and that he is so very independent. Sometimes, he will need his space, but do not worry -- He will always make time for you and even when you are not around, you will be in his thoughts. You will find that he is not like any other guy that you have met, so please do not take him for granted.

When it comes to his money, do not take advantage of that. He will be so unselfish with it because that is the way he is. Remember, he likes green better than blue, reds better than brunettes, Republicans better than Democrats, Khaki over denim, booty over anything, and even though he will not admit it, he really does like to be surprised. He is less tough than he may appear; you just have to take the time and let him bring down his guard.

Do not ever try to pull him away from his dreams or family. He will always encourage you to become everything you can be and will never, ever let you down. He likes it when you kiss his right side of the neck but whatever you do, do not, I repeat, do not touch his belly button. Just watch how your hand will fit perfectly into his and when it does, it seems as if nothing in the world could hurt you because he is there. When he puts his arms around you and tells you that you are special to him, you will know, there is not any guy in the world better than him. Do not ever let him go. You will regret doing so, for the rest of time -- I promise you will.

He is so sweet and so caring and know that if you ever leave him, you will break his heart the same way that my heart broke apart when he left me. Please do not hurt him. He was broken before, and he is broken after me. It breaks my heart as I sit here writing this to you.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
