To the Girl who was told she wasn't enough...

To the girl who was told she wasn't enough,

You are not alone. You gave your heart to a man who you thought needed it the most. You gave your soul to fix the one of the man that you loved. Day in and day out, you loved this person with all of your heart, soul, and being. You accepted his past, his present, and his future; you did it all for him, but it wasn't enough for him to stay. No matter what you said or did, it wasn't enough. Through the tears, fights, the curses, the name calling, the mocking, and nights spent crying yourself to sleep alone, you loved him. Even with all that love, he continued to destroy you and your self-esteem. He constantly told you that you were boring, annoying, and stupid. He told you that you were replaceable. He told you that his feelings could disappear in a blink of an eye, and he constantly reminded you that he can find another girl in a heartbeat. He told you that what you did was never enough. He cheated, lied, used, and abused you. And now you're left alone questioning yourself and your worth. How was I never enough when I was giving my all? What can I do to make him see my love? Will I be enough? How can I prove this to him?

Truth is, you have nothing to prove. Sometimes, people seek happiness in the demise of another. Why? I don't know. But one thing that I do know is that you are worthy of ultimate happiness and true love. When he left, I did not think that I could live without him; I thought he was everything to me. We talked everyday for two years, being in a relationship that was built on an unstable foundation. I thought I loved a man that treated me as the dirt on the ground. As time passes, you will realize that he was everything that was wrong for you. It was the hardest thing for me to realize; but once I did,I was me again. I began to smile more, my heart hurt less, and I was able to see my worth. I began to believe that I was enough again. And it's true, you are enough. With time, you will find the man that believes that too.

After a breakup, it's easy to lose yourself within the feelings of regret and the thoughts of "what if." However, it's important to understand that you deserve a man who loves you and shows it, a man that holds you and never wants to let go, a man who never puts you down for the fears you have,a man who loves you just as much as you love him.

To the girl that was told she wasn't enough, you are strong. You are beautiful. You deserve the world. You are enough.

Love,

The Girl Who Was Always Enough

You are enough.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
