To the girl who waits for love:
You are brave.
You are strong.
You are not alone.
Our world encourages us to grow up so quickly. By the time we're in high school, health class is focused on teaching us how to have sex rather than teaching us how to love our bodies. We are taught that these beautiful parts of our body are only made to please others. We are rushed into the process of maturing, and we barely have time to stop and enjoy the innocence and gaiety that comes with childhood.
But you have not forgotten what it is like to smile at the simplest of things. You have not forgotten that your worth is found in who you were created to be and in the Creator Himself. You have not traded your innocence for desire.
Love is the most beautiful thing in this world. It is precious, as are you. It is strong, brave, passionate, messy and imperfect. It is all-encompassing. It is worth waiting for.
So, you who waits for love, keep waiting. There is someone who will come and you will know that they are love. You will know the moment they take your hand in theirs' because a warmth and peace like you've never felt before will radiate throughout your body. When they kiss you, it will feel like coming home.
Save yourself for them, and only them. Your body, your mind, your soul is beautiful and broken, confusing and complex, but your love will want all of it - the good and the bad. Save yourself for them because when you fall in love, it will be a special bond like none other. Save yourself for them because all the pain and frustration that you've had to go through in order to wait will melt away the moment their body meets yours.
Love is worth waiting for. True, pure, wholesome love does not rush, does not overcome, does not take advantage of. It is the glue that binds two souls together into one.
To the girl who waits for love, keep waiting. I promise you that your love will come and it will be brighter and warmer than the sun.
