To The Girl Who Is Trying To Fix Him

You can't fix someone who doesn't want to be fixed.

When we hear about heartbreak we automatically think about some jerk of a guy breaking some poor girls heart, but that’s not always the case. When a girl’s heart breaks she may cry about it for a little while, eat some ice cream, and then she’s over it. When a guy’s heart breaks, it’s about ten times worse. I’ve said so many times before that I always go for the broken ones. I am the type of person who thinks she can “fix” him. I want to do everything in my power to put those pieces back together, which always just ends up with two broken hearts instead of a fixed one.

So to the one who thinks she has to fix them all,

STOP.

I have been there. Dating a broken hearted guy, thinking if I can just do everything right it would heal his heart and he would fall in love with me and we’d be happy together.

This scenario NEVER plays out like that.

You are literally just breaking your own heart.

You need to learn that no matter how much effort you put into it, no matter what you do for him, how much you care and love him, you will never be able to fix his broken heart.

And do not for one second think that there is anything wrong with you, because sweetheart there isn’t. It is all on him. He has to be willing to fix himself before it will ever work out with anyone, and if he’s not ready you can’t force it.

I know it hurts, but you need to remember what you’re worth. And it is so much more than waiting around trying to fix a guy who does not want to be fixed.

Your precious soul deserves to be with someone who is ready for all the love and kindness you are capable of giving. You deserve someone who can give you everything you want and more, someone you don’t have to “fix” because his heart is whole and ready to love you.

So stop worrying about trying to fix everyone else and just pick up the pieces of your own heart, put it back together, and wait for the one who is ready for all the love you’re giving to all the wrong people.

It’s tough, but I promise it is so worth it.
