Recently, I've realized that I am very lucky.

I'm lucky because I have never experienced true, extreme heartbreak.

I've had only a taste of what it can do to a girl.

Heartbreak, in the very small sense that I've dealt with it, is not knowing how to move on –– not knowing what to think, yet doing absolutely nothing else but thinking, because someone didn't want you; because someone chose to give you up.

Heartbreak eats at your mind –– it's all-consuming.

And the worst part is, the only cure is time.

Inevitably, it will be all you can think about ... at least for a while. But, let yourself be sad, let yourself experience the emotions that you need to.

I am also a very lucky girl because I've grown up knowing that I can run to God with anything and lean on Him when I don't know what to do next.

To all of the broken-hearted girls, this is what God has to say.

"If you come to me with this, I will give you peace."

Matthew 11:28-30 - " 'Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.' "

Psalms 34:18 - "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."

Revelation 21:4 - "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

"Do not doubt that you are enough. You are enough for me."

Jeremiah 1:5 - "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart."

Ephesians 2:10 - "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good work, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Romans 8:37-39 - "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

"I have a better path to show you, if you'll let me."

Jeremiah 29:11 - " 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' "
2 Peter 3:9 - "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

1 Thessalonians 5:18 - "Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

"I will never, ever leave you to fight this battle alone."

Deuteronomy 31:6 - "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Joshua 1:9 - “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Psalm 23:4 - “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

"Do not forget that I created you, and you are beautiful."

Psalm 139:14 - “You are beautiful for you are fearfully and wonderfully made.”

Luke 1:45 - "Blessed is she who believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her.”

1 Corinthians 15:10 - “By the grace of God, I am what I am.”

Proverbs 31:25 - “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future."

I cannot imagine going through heartbreak without the knowledge that God is on my side fighting for me - without knowing that the only reason for this pain is for something so much better to come along.

As long as we have God, the pieces will always fit back together again.

Psalm 46:5 - "God is within her, she will not fall."

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
