It sucks. Being led on sucks. I think the worst part about being led on is that you don’t realize you have been led on until it happens. You ignore the signs and when it happens you just have to deal with the feelings that come with it. You feel like an idiot for ever feeling the way you left and start searching for a reason why things ended so abruptly.

Everyone is going to be led on at least once in their lifetime. Obviously, the most popular scenario is when a girl is being lead on to a relationship with a guy or vice a versa. Everything is going great until one day the opposing party slowly starts to not answer your texts or snapchats. They become short with you and always tell you nothing is wrong when you ask. And then, it’s over. The person who you had constant conversations with and could see a future with wants nothing to do with you anymore.

Days go by and you haven’t spoken and you constantly blame yourself for doing something wrong. You replay the smiles and laughs you shared with one another through text or in person and eagerly look at your phone every second to see if they want to talk again. It can even goes as far as unfollowing and blocking you on social media as well as blocking your phone number. You have been led on and there’s really nothing you can do to change it.

But one day you realize that there is nothing to look forward to anymore. You realize that you will probably never see their name on your phone again. And that is okay.

Once you start realizing that the door to that time in your life is shut, you also realize that you deserve better than the person that led you on. You deserve someone who wants the same things you do and isn’t scared to express their emotions. You deserve someone who will be there through everything and not walk away for no reason. You deserve the world and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Now sometimes the person who led you on may come back into your life, looking for a second chance. It is your choice whether or not to give it to them and you fear the same thing will happen all over again.

Whatever you may choose, this is for everyone who has been led on before. Always remember that you deserve more than someone who left without ever saying goodbye.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
