I think I can speak for women across the world when I say that self confidence is something I struggle with on a daily basis. I get on Instagram or Twitter and see all of these women who are so beautiful and fit with a tan body and perfect, blonde hair, and suddenly, every bit of confidence I had disappears as if it never existed to begin with. It is so easy for us to fall victim to comparing ourselves to others, and in turn, getting discouraged when we realize we aren't as skinny as that one girl, or we don't get as many likes on Instagram as that other girl.
You are beautiful. Every freckle, every hair on your head, everything you are insecure about or could ever be insecure about, God made. And more importantly, God made your heart. I am a firm believer in pretty is as pretty does. You must start on the inside in order to feel beautiful. I saw something on Pinterest (of course), and it brought tears to my eyes. It said, "How cool is it that the same God that created mountains and oceans and galaxies looked at you and thought the world needed one of you too." Wow.
I know sometimes I think to myself, well, I'm too damaged and too bruised on the inside to be seen as beautiful, and I'm sure similar thoughts have run through your head as well. In the midst of those negative thoughts, God has revealed to me that the most beautiful people in this world are the ones that have truly experienced hurt and pain, and instead of giving up, they move on with their life and decide to allow that pain and that hurt to make them an even stronger person. The fact that you continue to smile and love, despite how heartbroken you are or have been, is beautiful within itself. You are strong.
Regardless of the number on the scale, or the number of likes you get on your selfie or even the number of followers you have, you are beautiful. Whether you are 130 pounds or 230 pounds, you are beautiful. Whether you are 4'9" or 6'2," you are beautiful. It doesn't matter if you turn heads when you walk into a room, or if you have never really felt noticed before, you are beautiful. What you have to realize is that when God made you, He did not intend for you to be anything but what you are. You are exactly what you are meant to be. God worked so hard on you to make you the beautiful, strong, amazing woman you are today. You are capable of so much, and the devil knows that. The devil doesn't want to see you achieve your full potential that God has destined for you. Do not sell yourself short by allowing the devil to get into your head with negative thoughts.
