To the Girl Waiting for Love

My Story isn’t going to end the way you’d expect it to…

You’d expect that it would end with me being swept away into the sunset by the man of my dreams and getting my happily ever after…
But no.
That won't be the ultimate end of My Story.
My Story is so much better!

My Story starts before the beginning. Before the beginning of time, that is.
Because before time there was One.
One God.
One Creator.
One marvelous being who spoke the earth into existence.
But before he spoke, he thought of my name.
He knew exactly what his plans would be for me.
This is why My Story starts before the beginning.

As I was growing up, all I dreamed about was being in love.
Just to have that closeness with someone who would do anything for me…
Even die for me.
But I got sick of waiting for my life to start and my dreams to come true, so I tried to make it happen myself.
I looked for love from so many different people.
I even thought I had found it a few times.
Until one day I realized that it had been so long since anyone had looked me in the eyes, said “I Love You”, and meant it…
Or “You Are Beautiful”, without any ulterior motives.
These are the kinds of things a girl needs to hear. Not just the words, but the truth behind them as well.

But these words are written down for me so many times!
“I have loved you with an everlasting love” and “you were created in my image… I formed you”.
When this One speaks to my heart, His words are true from eternity past and on into forever.
Written down for many years, but still new everyday.

This is why He is all I need.
This is why He will always be there.
And He is the reason I am alive!

I am no longer waiting for my life to start.
And though it may come, I am no longer impatiently waiting for that love I have so long sought after.
I already have Jesus.
And He is all I need.

HE is the reason why My Story is so much better.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
