"The biggest mistake one can make is losing yourself in the process of valuing someone too much, and forgetting that you are special too." -Unknown.
Relationships are hard. A relationship requires both individuals to equally want the relationship to work. They require trust and honesty and time. If one participant ends up having to babysit the other in fear of losing them, the relationship has become meaningless. You cannot just build a house without a foundation; that's crazy! In a similar fashion, you can't build a bond without trust.
There are way too many people in this world to even entertain the idea that you won't find your soul mate someday. However, you can't go out searching for that Mr. Right. That's not how life works. Life happens when you least expect it to. In Woody Allen's words, "If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans." God doesn't forget about anybody. He has a plan for every single person on this here rotating sphere that we call Earth.
As for the broken heart, it will mend.
"Everything heals. Your body heals. Your heart heals. Your mind heals. Wounds heal. Your soul repairs itself. Your happiness is always going to come back. Bad times don't last." -Unknown.
That's a very important statement to always remember. Bad times don't last. Do you really think Carrie Underwood still thinks about the guy who inspired the song "Before He Cheats?" Probably not. However, you can't let your broken heart define you. In order to keep moving forward and to find that special someone someday, you have to get out of bed. You have to keep living life. You can't avoid the world and wallow; that's nonsense.
There are approximately seven billion people in this world. Don't focus all of your time on some guy who did you wrong. Don't seek vengeance or harbor feelings of anger and sorrow; pick up a new hobby, exercise, meet new people. Live your life and love will find it's way. God has a promise and a plan; trust Him.
