To The Friends Who Still Love Us Even If We Don’t Talk Every Day

Sometimes we are lucky to have such special people that are still there for us no matter where life takes us.

I have endless gratitude to you for still being in my life even if my life took me great distances from you. I always know you are there for me. I am always able to count on you to still make my day even if it happened through FaceTime and weak internet connections.

You have given me nothing but the best reunions and the warmest welcomes. I know that you’ll always be someone I can count on when things get tough.

Thank you for still being my partners in crime when we reunite, giving me adventures, and crazy stories that I will always treasure. Even when you are miles and miles away you are able to be there and take care of me when I am a mess. Thank you for believing in me when even you don’t understand what I’m doing.

Thank you for loving me no matter how the years that have gone by have changed me. You allowed me to change and grow with the reassurance that you’ll always be there for me when it comes to the good and the bad. Thank you for saving me from all the hardships, all the obstacles, the self-destructive days and the self-loathing nights.Thank you for helping me find my way when I’m lost and for opening your door to me when I didn’t even knock on it. I am so thankful for you forgiving me for all the times I wasn’t there and for not holding it against me.

You have given me a bond and a friendship that I am sure will always live and will even die with me. Thank you for being the same friend to me just as you were while we were growing up. Thank you for breaking the endless amount of barriers of distance and time that when we meet again it feels as if nothing has changed. Thank you for not letting life and distance define our friendship. Thank you for everything you have done and everything you still do.

Most importantly, thank you for making me feel safe in knowing that wherever life takes, I can always come back to you.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
