To the college kid who wants to quit,

I know what you're feeling. We all do. We all sympathize with the feeling of hopelessness, and empathize with the pain of feeling and sometimes realizing that this might not have been the plan for us. Truth is, you're wrong.

You're strong, smart, and capable. Every hope and dream that you so desperately crave is waiting at the finish line. And the truth is, getting there isn't easy. The path is crooked and has more bumps than South Carolina roads, but it's worth it. Remember that you were made to succeed, prosper and achieve the best. You deserve every dream that your heart yearns for. Those sleepless nights where you've contemplated the path that you're on is coming to an end. The sleepless nights you've had where you've studied hours on hours... They're going to make you into something great.

Many times I question if I am good enough to go on the path that I seek to travel. The truth is, I'm not good enough. I'm better. I'm magnificent and so are you. One day you'll look back on these nights, those trials, those tears, and think to yourself: I made it. Not only did you make it, you proved to many the path is attainable. You've proved to the people that have doubted you that your words were facts. Yes, you might feel down, but continue to push and stick around.

Always keep in mind your vision. Constantly envision yourself in that dream job, driving that dream car, making the difference and the imprint that you want to make in this world. Remind yourself that you're shooting for the stars. But that in shooting for the stars, it is okay to land on the moon. It's okay to miss and stumble along the path. Those bumps, ridges, and cracks make the journey a journey itself. It makes a story that you'll be able to tell for a lifetime. So embrace the trials and the tribulations that present itself. View them as blocks that are slowly building you into the person you were always meant to be and eventually will become.

My mother always told me that anything worth having won't come easy. Remind yourself that you have already conquered so much in getting this far. But in order to conquer the world, you must experience ups and downs. To my fellow distressed, depressed, hopeless, hurt, tired college student, you are going to be great. The plan that is for your life cannot be deterred or changed by anyone but you. So, what's it going to be? Will you be successful or will you succumb to your sadness? I've made my choice.

So, to my fellow college student... See you at the top... Or from the top.

Christmas Tree

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
