Dear Chipotle workers,

Thank you. Thank you for making my day.

My day wasn’t going so great. With waking up early, running into rude people, and the work overload, I thought there was no hope for today. That was until we met up.

I mean everyone knows nothing can turn a day around like a big fat burrito.

I walked into Chipotle with nothing but high hopes. I wait in line anxious for the deliciousness about to come my way. One by one the line shortens and my body can’t handle the excitement anymore, I’m jumping for joy with a biggest grin on my face.

Someone pinch me I must be dreaming, it is finally my turn. The worker looks me right into my eyes and says,

“How may I help you?”

Those words are music to my ears.

“Burrito, please” I say with no hesitation.

I look down the counter to see all the delicious options. Juicy steak, creamy sour cream, crisp lettuce, and spicy salsa. I can feel my stomach fighting me, it is as eager as I am to devour this burrito. The man places all my toppings one by one and it looks like a work of art. The bright red of the tomato salsa, the eye popping yellow of the corn salsa, and the vivid green of guacamole, I swear I am in love.

I have come to the end of the line and the worker begins to roll it all up and wrap it just like a perfect Christmas present. I reach the register and the cashier tells me the total of my order. Without any hesitation I hand him my cash and with my change he hands me the best gift anyone could ever give me. My burrito.

I make my way to a table and sit down. I am peeling back the foil of the burrito and I don’t know if the hunger is getting to my brain but I think this burrito is actually calling my name right now. I go to take my first bite and it feels like the moment is in slow motion. My mouth meets the tortilla and my teeth sink into nothing but delectable joy. All these flavors in my mouth are overwhelming but so worth it.

I couldn’t be happier with my situation. Just my burrito and me. As I see myself finishing I just want to slow down to savor it all. I reach the end and I can feel myself beging to tear up. I crinkle up the foil from the burrito and toss it in the trash like Kobe because I have officially conquered this burrito. My satisfied appetite and I walk out of Chipotle like pure champions. My day took a turn for the best and I couldn’t be happier. So thank you Chipotle workers. You really know how to make a person’s day. You are the real MVP.

Sincerely yours,

Burrito fanatic

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
