Thank You.

I could say this a million times, but it would not do justice.

Thank you for giving me a chance to be myself. My true self.

Thank you for laughing at my jokes just because you see me laughing.

Thank you for giving me compliments that boost not only my mood, but my confidence.

Thank you for having high standards and not falling short to what The Lord desires from you.

Thank you for going on spontaneous trips, even if that means driving all over Texas.

Thank you for respecting the rules my mom makes for me.

Thank you for giving me a nudge when I'm scared to take a risk due to the unknown outcome.

Thank you for being blunt when we need to be serious.

Thank you for making me laugh so hard I cry.

Thank you for talking to me for hours and rushing me home to make curfew.

Thank you for never wearing a facade with me.

Thank you for saving money and finding cheap, fun dates to go on.

Thank you for letting me love NASCAR.

Thank you for choosing me.

Thank you for giving me every reason in the world to trust you.

Thank you for making our long-distance relationship work.

Thank you for accepting my quirks and liking me no matter how weird you think I am.

Thank you for loving on my pets.

Thank you for dreaming big with me.

Thank you for making me smile.

Thank you for giving me space when I need it.

Thank you for making sure I meet my goals.

Thank you for trusting me.

Thank you for not arguing with me.

Thank you for not giving me anything to argue with you about.

Thank you for calling me at 5 AM so I wake up on time.

Thank you for letting me buy you things.

Thank you for driving 5 hours to see my new world.

Thank you for making weird faces with me.

Thank you for our FaceTime dates.

Thank you for not getting jealous or giving me a reason to be.

Thank you for including me with your friends.

Thank you for hugging me when I cry.

Thank you for sharing your life with me.

Thank you for being my biggest fan.

Thank you for putting God first.

Thank you for always being you.

Thank you.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
